Samantha‘s colorful birthday card features You’re Claw-some! The bear from Critter Concert is a perfect fit for her scene, after some fussy cutting to remove his trumpet! He looks like he’s having lots of luck with the claw machine!

Christy created her amazing birthday card on a panel of Spiffy Speckles paper die cut with the Sunburst Backdrop. She arranged colorful animals from Critters on the Savanna and Wild for You around the Magic Messages greeting!

Joyce‘s card is perfect for a fairytale-loving kid! She created a castle in the clouds with Build-A-Castle and Puffy Cloud Backdrop: Portrait! The Unicorn Picnic critters and fairies look right at home in this happy scene!

Karin‘s kid-friendly birthday card features Village Heroes in a clean and simple grid design!

Franci‘s design features the cute mice of Bubbles of Joy and the Bubble Border to create a sweet card! It is perfect for sending a Scripty Bubble Sentiments “smile” to brighten the day a child!

What could be better than a rainbow chameleon on a kid’s birthday card? Samantha created an inky Stitched Rainbow and added it to layered Shimmer cardstock Zig Zag Squares!

Caly‘s all die cut card is delightful! She inked up the ice cream scoops from I Scream, You Scream in cheery colors and added sweet smiling faces! A cherry on top is the perfect detail. She finished her card with Scripty Sweet and layered everything on a Quilted Backdrop!

Jessica’s Edward Scissorhands Scalloped Box Card!

Good morning! Jess here with a card for our current Inspired by a Book, Movie, or Song challenge! It’s been so fun figuring out how I can adapt Lawn Fawn sets to fit some of my favorite movies! Today I’ve created a box card pop-up featuring one of my all-time favorites: Edward Scissorhands!!

To start I stamped the mermaid and merman from Mermaid For You, the houses from Happy Village, and lots of scissors from Holiday Helpers with Versafine and heat-embossed them with clear embossing powder. I colored them with Copic markers, added a few Edward Scissorhands accents to the merman, and die-cut them with the coordinating dies.

Next I stamped the giraffe from Critters on the Savanna, the dino from Critters from the Past, the seal from Sealed With a Kiss, and Nessie from Lovable Legends with Celery Stick ink and colored them with Copic markers to recreate the topiaries that Edward creates in the movie. Once I was done I die-cut them with the coordinating dies and added a little YG11 Copic to the edges of the dies to keep them from being too clean cut.

Next I die-cut the Scalloped Box Card Pop-Up with the Spring Fling paper pack and the inner mats of the box card with the Spiffy Speckles paper pack in green and blue. I also used the Simple Stitched Hillside dies to create grassy hills for each layer. I stamped the sentiment from Coaster Critters onto one of the mats with Versafine and heat-embossed it
with clear embossing powder. Then I adhered the box together. I added some of the topiaries to the side panels and tucked the rest around my houses. Finally I added Edward and Kim to complete the scene!

And that’s my card! You have until Sunday, March 17th at 11:59PM ET to get crafty with your Inspired by a Book, Movie, and Song creations and I can’t wait to see what you create! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a fabulous weekend!

We are happy to welcome Davina Cantrell as our amazing Guest Designer for this challenge! You know and love her as popsiclesticks on Instagram! Her brilliant cards are frequently inspired by movies, especially Disney and Harry Potter! Wait till you see what she has created for this challenge!

For her featured card, Davina created a tall 8.5″ x 3.5″ card! It really works for this amazing Peter Pan inspired card! She combined so many different sets then used them so creatively to tell this story!

For Peter, she used the boy from Bicycle Built for You and Tinkerbell is a tiny fairy from our Thanksgiving free gift set, A Little Sparkle! To create Skull Rock, Davina started with the speech bubble from Love Letters and added the ghostly eyes and nose with Copic markers. Then she layered the hills from Ahoy Matey in front to finish the pirate lair!

To create the scene, Davina also used Mermaid for You, Wild for You, Toadally Awesome, Ahoy Matey, Meadow Borders, Ocean Wave Borders and Stitched Wave Borders!

Now let’s check out the fantastic inspiration by our Design Team!

Can you guess Jessica‘s inspiration for this amazing Shadow Box Card? To make this scene from Ratatouille come to life she used a whole bunch of sets in totally clever ways! Be sure to click on her name to visit her blog for a full list of all the products she used and more photos of this fun 3D card!

Grace found all the characters for her delightful Winnie the Pooh scene in our sets, Critter Concert, Bicycle Built for You and Hay There! I think it’s so fun that she used Puffy Cloud Borders to make the treetops!

Christy created a lovely scene using Baked with Love to depict her favorite book, The School of Essential Ingredients by Erica Bauermeister!

Karin created a friendly version of the shark from Jaws! It’s hard to believe our cute Duh-nuh critter could be the ruthless shark depicted in the movie; he’s a kinder, gentler version!

Ahoy Matey was used by Franci to create this clean and simple design inspired by the Pirates of the Caribbean films! I love how she used a scoring board to add the embossed lines to add interest by framing her cute vignettes!

Samantha‘s beautiful birthday card takes inspiration from The Lion King! The Critters on the Savanna set has the regal lion while the custom sentiment is stamped with Harold’s ABCs! That background is all sorts of awesome!

Joyce‘s La La Land inspired card is totally charming! She used Village Border and the streetlamp from Here We Go A-Waddling to set the scene for the characters from Bicycle Built for You! The song title was added with the help of Violet’s ABCs.

Samantha C used our new RAWRSOME set with some help from Critters from the Past to bring her Land Before Time inspiration to life! How amazing is her prehistoric looking background?!

We will have Design Team inspiration for you over the next 2 weeks and of course we’ll share our Featured Fawnatics and random winner for Challenge 47 tomorrow!
