Epic New Year Party with Samantha

After the year we’ve had, we might as well “party like there’s no tomorrow”! Samantha‘s fantastic card adds a new spin to our New Year challenge!

This challenge will be open until Sunday, January 3 at 11:59PM ET. We hope you will join us!

Samantha used images and the sentiment from our RAWRSOME set to create a humorous dinosaur-inspired new year design!

Samantha was inspired by the sparklers in the challenge image to create the cool volcano! She used Distress Paints for the sparkler effect!

I hope this clever card gives you some fun inspiration! Big thanks to Samantha for sharing today!

New Year Inspiration with Guest Designer Mimi

Happy Monday! It’s the last week of 2020 and our amazing Guest Designer, Mimi has created the most charming card to see off this year and bring in a shiny new year!

Our New Year challenge will be open until Sunday, January 3 at 11:59PM ET. We hope you will join the challenge; we can’t wait to see your creativity!

The mice are happily switching their calendars on Mimi’s interactive pull-tab card design! She used the desk and typewriter from You’re Just My Type. She added homey touches with images from Den Sweet Den. How cute is the lamp that she altered to make it a floor lamp! So clever!

She created the messages by combining words from Yeti or Not, For You Deer and numbers from Smitty’s ABCs.

There’s more clever innovation on this card! Mimi used Let’s BBQ to create the stools with the grill legs and the hot dog and hamburger for the cushions! I’m amazed by her brilliant creativity!

I love how the message on the typewriter changes as the tab is pulled! The mice are clearly ready for a new year, they are celebrating with party hats and removing the old calendar pages to the wastebasket!

Big hugs and thanks to Mimi for sharing her amazing creativity for the New Year challenge! Be sure to check her out at Instagram where she is known at dasmimz.

Christy’s Cool New Year Yeti

Merry Christmas to all of our Lawn Fawnatics friends who are celebrating today! We wish you the happiest of holidays!

Hey friends, it’s Christy here with another card for our New Year Challenge! This challenge will be open until Sunday, January 3 at 11:59PM ET.

For this card I used the adorable Yeti or Not stamp set, along with an ornament from Joy to the Woods and the mountain range from Over the Mountain Borders. My idea for this card is that the yeti is making off with the New Year’s Eve ball! I colored my images with Copic markers and trimmed them out with the matching dies.

For the background, I cut out a Stitched Circle Stackable out of Bristol Smooth Surface Cardstock. I blended on Distress Inks in Spun Sugar and Speckled Egg to create my sky. I splattered on some Liquid Stardust and Copic Opaque White to create some stars. Then I die cut the mountain range to fit and layered it over top.

I trimmed down my Let It Shine 6×6 patterned papers with the Outside In Stitched Rectangle Stackables for the cream print with the gold foiled dot. I also selectively die-cut the pink polka dot with the Stitched Party Banners die and cut the aqua and white stripe with the Scalloped Circle Stackables. I layered these onto a Speckled Eggshell card base and popped my focal panel up with foam tape. Then I adhered my images and added an Everyday Sentiment Banner stamped in Manatee Ink. I finished the card off with a sprinkle of sequins, and some Stickles glitter glue because the new year needs to sparkle!

If you’d like to see how this card came together, I will have a video tutorial on my YouTube channel, Christy Gets Crafty, on Monday, December 28th. Since it’s Christmas and I already have one Lawn Fawn video up today (with the card featured on the Lawn Fawn blog), I thought I would spread the love over two days!

In the meantime, you still have time to play along with our New Year Challenge! We can’t wait to see what you create!
