Hello friends! It’s Caly with you today.  Thanks so much for being here with me!  We’re nearly done with the current challenge and hope you’ll make time to participate!  The current challenge is an inspiration board and is up for interpretation!

I saw the sparks in the inspiration board and went with the How You Bean and How You Bean Stars Add-On sets.  I stamped my jar and added the stars and stamped a few more stars for my card today.  I took my time coloring the stars to give them lots of shine and dimension.

Copic colors used:
Lid:  N2, N4, N6
Jar:  B0000, B32, B34, B37
Stars:  Y0000, Y00, Y04, Y18, E13, R21, R24

When done coloring, I die-cut the images and set them aside to work on the background.  On a white panel, I added Mustard Seed Distress Oxide Ink first in the bottom left-hand corner.  This is going to give our jar lots of glow.  Then I added Prize Ribbon Distress Oxide Ink and overlapped it with the yellow just a tad to blend the two together.  I finished by darkening the edges with Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink.

To give my background lots of interest and shine, I splattered some Lawn Fawn Liquid Stardust all over the ink-blended panel.  This is something I got when it was first released but I have been forgetting to use it!  I didn’t dilute it at all.  I simply dropped 2-3 drops on an acrylic block and picked it up with a brush to splatter it all over the panel.  It’s concentrated so the splatters and shimmer are intense and perfect for what I was trying to achieve.

To finish, I first attached my images with foam adhesive.  For the sentiment, I stamped and embossed a sentiment from the Let’s Bokeh set with gold embossing powder.  I love the look of sentiments when they are trimmed around the letters and don’t mind fussy cutting.

I hope you enjoyed this card!  You have until Sunday, January 2, 2022 at 11:59pm PST.  Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Thank you so much for sharing with us today, Caly!

Christy’s Glittery Happy New Year Card

Hey friends, it’s Christy with another card for our Inspiration Board Challenge! My first card was inspired by the photo in the lower right corner. This time I wanted to go with the black, silver, and gold tones in some of the other photos.

I started by stamping out my Scent with Love skunks and Joy to All banners with Jet Black Ink. I colored them with Copic markers and trimmed them out with the matching dies.

Then I created a focal panel with some Let it Shine Snowflakes patterned paper and a little bit of Narwhal for the floor. I added my images and a little “disco ball” cut from silver sparkle cardstock from the Holiday pack.

I scored and folded a panel of Black Licorice Cardstock into a standard A2 size card, then adhered some Metallic Silver cardstock which I die cut with the Peppermint Stripes Backdrop. I filled in the small stripes with gold sparkle cardstock.

Then I popped up my focal panel with foam tape, and gold heat embossed a sentiment from Merry Messages onto more Black Licorice cardstock and trimmed it down with an Everyday Sentiment Banner. I finished off the card with some gold sequins and filled in their centers with Stardust Stickles.

If you’d like to see how this card came together, you can check out the video tutorial as part of my Holiday Card Series on my YouTube Channel, Christy Gets Crafty.

If you haven’t yet entered our Happy New Year Inspiration Board Challenge, there is still some time! We can’t wait to see what projects you’ll come up with!

Samantha’s Gorgeous Inspiration

Samantha is here today to share her gorgeous card inspired by our new challenge!

Samantha took her inspiration from the bottom left photo. She created a beautiful card with a woodgrain pattern. She stared by ink-blending a panel of white cardstock with Distress Oxide inks in Fossilized Amber and Vintage Photo. Then she added gold watercolor splatters. Then once the background was dry, Samantha stamped Woodgrain Backdrops with Walnut Stain Distress ink.

Then she used White Stencil Paste to add the Snowflake Trio Stencils over the woodgrain. While that was drying, she heat-embossed the sentiment from Snowy Backdrops in white on a vellum Fancy Wavy Banner. After attaching the sentiment banner, the final touch was a few clear sequins!

Thank you so much, Samantha! Your take on the Inspiration Board is so beautiful!
