Jenn is back to share some charming Winnie the Pooh inspiration with us today!

Jenn created this adorable woodsy design with Woodgrain cardstock and the Large Mini Slimline die set. She added Puffy Cloud Borders to look like the treetop and bushes. Winnie the Pooh is played by our Really High Five bear, all he needs is a red t-shirt for a costume. The honey jar is from Milk and Cookies.

Then, Jenn included the bee and the sign from Berry Special. The hand-lettered sign is a fun detail!

Jenn stamped out the quote using Harold’s ABCs and Black Licorice ink.

Thank you, Jenn! This card is so adorable!

Today we have a special treat for you! Both of our wonderful Samanthas have Inspired by a Book, Movie or Song ideas for you!

Samantha Casey created a fun take on Where’s Waldo with our Tiny Friends sets! She framed all the people with a Stitched Scalloped Square Frame. I love how she framed “Waldo” with the magnifying glass from Hey Lady!

Samantha Mann was inspired by the Disney movie, Pocahontas! She says her favorite characters are Meeko and Flit. She used raccoons from Holiday Party Animal and Critter Concert for Meeko, and the cute hummingbird from Gleeful Gardens stars as Flit. The bathtub from Rub-A-Dub-Dub stands in for the canoe while Samantha customized one of the mermaids from Mermaid for You as Pocohontas. I love her beautiful background, inked blended perfectly then die cut with Peekaboo Backdrop!

So, you still have plenty of time to join us for this challenge! We can’t wait to see what inspires you and how you will show us!

Big thanks to our wonderful Samanthas! Your creativity is always so amazing!

Christy’s Elephant Parade Card Inspired by a Book

Hey friends, it’s Christy here with another card for our Inspired by a Book, Movie, or Song Challenge! This one was inspired by a children’s book with a sweet message and beautiful illustrations.

It’s called An Elephant Nose Best by Sue Samuels, illustrated by Danny Deeptown. I decided to try to recreate the cover and pulled together a TON of Lawn Fawn sets to do it, including Elephant Parade Add-on, Ocean Shell-fie, Beary Rainy Day, You Are Sublime, Wood You Be Mine?, and Toadally Awesome. I stamped all the images in Jet Black Ink, colored them with Copic markers, and trimmed them out with the matching dies.

To build the background, I cut all the elements out of Bristol Smooth Surface Cardstock and colored them with Distress Oxide Inks. On the first panel I used the Cloudy Stencil to blend on Shaded Lilac and Speckled Egg. Next I used Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn for a Grassy Border, Spun Sugar and Gathered Twigs on the Stitched Simple Wavy Border for the ground, and Speckled Egg and Salvaged Patina on the Simple Stitched Hillside Border for the pond. I also used the Ocean Wave Accents to cut some ripples into the water. Then I stamped the corn stalks with Fossilized Amber, using them to represent the tall, leafy plants in the background of the scene.

I adhered everything together and added in my images, then stamped a sentiment from Elphie Selfie at the top in Fish Tank Ink to mimic the title of the book. I also stamped two trail lines with Narwhal Ink and glued on some little flies to replace the bees, since I didn’t have any that were small enough.

I finished the card with a bit of Stardust Stickles on the flies’ wings and on the top edge of the pond. You still have time to play along with our challenge! We can’t wait to see how you interpret this one!

If you’d like to watch this card come together, you can check out the video tutorial on my YouTube channel, Christy Gets Crafty! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Thank you so much for this lovely inspiration, Christy!
