Christy’s Wonderful Winter New Year Card!

Hey friends, it’s Christy! I hope you all had the very merriest of Christmases! Now that we’re just days away from switching out our calendars, I wanted to create a card that captured that spirit. A new dawn of a new day of a new year.

I stamped out my images from Sealed with a Kiss, colored them with some cool gray Copic markers, and trimmed them out with the matching dies. Then I created a background by sponging Distress Inks onto a Small Stitched Circle Stackables to look like the sky at sunrise.

I die-cut a snowdrift with Stitched Hillside Borders and stamped my Merry Messages sentiment on it using Manatee ink. Then I glued that down to the bottom of my sunrise scene and added my seals. I popped that up over some Gotta Have Gingham patterned paper trimmed down with the Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables, and a Really Rainbow Christmas flag with the end selectively die-cut with one of the Stitched Party Banners.

As a finishing touch, I added a few stars with a white gel pen to signify the night turning into day. If you’d like to see how this card came together, you can check it out on my YouTube Channel, Christy Gets Crafty.

I wish you all a peaceful end to 2018 and hope that the new year brings you joy and happiness and lots of crafty mojo! Speaking of which, there’s still time to enter our Wonderful Winter Challenge, it will be open until Sunday, January 6th at 11:59PM ET ! We can’t wait to see what you create.

A Beautiful Winter Skies Card by Samantha!

Hello Fawnatics! We hope you had a lovely Christmas and are enjoying a wonderful holiday season! Today Samantha Mann joins us to share her gorgeous card inspired the our current challenge, Wonderful Winter!

Samantha combined Winter Skies with Upon a Star to create this amazing winter scene with the cute polar bears cuddling up for some star-gazing!

For the background, Samantha blended Distress inks in Wilted Violet and Milled Lavender then she white heat-embossed the constellations from Upon a Star over the top! She used the Snow Cool igloo for some added fun and whimsy! To give it more depth she fussy cut around the “door” and popped it on top of the Stitched Hillside Border! Such a clever idea! The sentiment from Winter Skies is perfect for sending love to friends and loved ones this winter!

Thank you so much Samantha for inspiring us today with your beautiful card design!

Our Wonderful Winter challenge runs for 3 weeks and continues through Sunday January 6th at 11:59PM ET. We hope you will join us!

Ashley’s Fun Rudolph Themed Card

Our Guest Designer, Ashley is back with us today to share an amazing card based on the old 1960s animated movie Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer! She totally captured the fun and quirky characters using Lawn Fawn sets!

To set the scene, Ashley used Stitched Mountain Borders and Simple Stitched Hillside Borders. The scenery picks up the pastel colors in the challenge inspiration! Rudolph is played by our Cheery Christmas deer and his elf friend, Hermey is one of our Holiday Helpers! The gifts and toys are from these sets as well. The trees are from the Snow Day set and the sweet greeting is found in Making Frosty Friends (which is the theme of this vintage holiday animated classic!)

The lion, King Moonracer and the misfit polka dotted toy elephant are from the Wild for You set!

The Gnome plays the role of Yukon Cornelius, an arctic prospector who protects Rudolph and his elf friend Hermey from Bumble the abominable snowman, played by our cute Yeti!

Thank you so much, Ashley for sharing this super clever and fun card design, it’s amazing! We are so happy to have you join us as Guest Designer for this Wonderful Winter challenge!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to our friends and fellow Fawnatics!
