Hey friends, it’s Christy here with another card for our Dies Only Challenge! For this card I wanted to use the little bees from the Meadow Backdrop: Portrait. I die cut the bodies out of Sticky Note Cardstock, the face and stripe pieces from Storm Cloud, and the wings from Pearlescent Vellum. I added a little Mustard Seed Distress Oxide Ink to the yellow parts and Black Soot to the dark gray.

For the background, I created a Sticky Note A2 card base and blended Distress Oxide Inks directly on the front, using Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed, Fossilized Amber, and Vintage Photo. To add a bit more interest, I incorporated the Honeycomb Stencil into the background here and there. I also did some splatter with the Mustard Seed and some Gansai Tambi Starry Colors in the copper shade.

I did another small panel using the same cardstock and ink without the splatters and die cut the Scripty Sweet from that. Then I white heat embossed a sentiment onto Storm Cloud Cardstock using the Hive Five stamp set and glued everything to the card front with liquid glue. I also finished off the inside of the card, stamping in Sunflower Ink.

To see how this card came together, you can check out the video tutorial on my YouTube channel, Christy Gets Crafty. And don’t forget to play along with our Dies Only Challenge! We can’t wait to see what you create!

Thanks for sharing this “sweet” inspiration, Christy!

Samantha‘s “dies only” design is perfect for summer! It features Flamingo Floatie and a punny Henry’s ABCs greeting!

Samantha used white cardstock to die cut all the pieces for the Flamingo Floatie and the Stitched Pond. Then she used Distress Inks to add all the color!

Concrete surround pool – Vintage Photo and Fossilized Amber
Pool – Wilted Violet, Blueprint Sketch, Peacock Feathers, Salvaged Patina
Flamingo – Dried Marigold, Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed

She added dimension and interest with splatters of ink and water! She popped up to “pool deck” and then added the Henry’s ABCs on foam tape, following the curve of the pool.

As a final super fun feature, Samantha popped the floatie up on an Action Wobbler to make this adorable card interactive!

Thank you so much for inspiring us today, Samantha! Your card is brilliant!

Clever is the word that best describes Mimi‘s honey-themed design! Her slimline card features some very clever uses of Lawn Cuts die sets.

Mimi created her amazing honey gathering design on a Scalloped Slimline with Hearts: Portrait die cut. She stenciled grass and clouds to set the scene!

To create the honey-filled beehive, Mimi backed the Magic Iris Beehive Add-On with Pixie Dust Sparkle cardstock that she inked with Wild Honey and Rusty Hinge Distress Oxide inks. She created texture by layering the hexagon shapes from Honeycomb Shaker Gift Tag on top. Then she made the greeting by combining Scripty Sweet with a cut up Happy Birthday Border.

The clever table is made with parts from Canvas and Easel and Stadium Seating. Mimi used the raindrops from Stitched Umbrella as the drips of honey and then the jars and more honey are from Art Supplies. And even more cleverness is the Build-A-House Gingerbread Add-On scalloped roofs as the jar lids! And she used the Camera Pull-Tab Add-On to cut the slit in the tops of the jars, now that’s really creative.

Thank you for sharing with us today, Mimi! Your card is absolutely amazing! Just so sweet!
