Laura’s Beautiful Fall Slimline Card

Our amazing Guest Designer, Laura Franzoni is back today to share a gorgeous slimline card celebrating all things Fall!

Our Awesome Autumn challenge is open for another week, closing on Sunday October 4th at 11:59PM ET.

The cute Car Critters are out for a drive in the countryside enjoying the Autumn landscape! It’s a perfect time to pick up a pumpkin from the squirrels’ pumpkin patch! I love how the pumpkin is tied to the top of the car!

Laura used the Large Slimline with Sliders die set to create the tall panel for her amazing scene! Then she used Stitched Mountain Borders and Simple Stitched Hillside Borders to create the landscape. She added Fall color with the Tree Before ‘n Afters and finished with Oliver’s Stitched ABCs spelling out Fall!

We want to thank Laura for sharing her talent and creativity with us for the Awesome Autumn challenge! Check out her Instagram, you will be inspired!

Christy’s Squirrely Acorn House!

Hey friends, it’s Christy here with another card for our Awesome Autumn challenge. I am so flipping excited about the Let’s Go Nuts squirrels, I just had to use them again! This time I’m also featuring Acorn House, which was so much fun to play with.

I started by stamping my images in Jet Black ink and coloring them with Copic markers. Then I trimmed them out with the matching dies and set them aside.

I pulled out a whole bunch of gorgeous shades of Lawn Fawn cardstock and began die-cutting the elements for my Acorn House. I used Kraft for the base, and dark brown Woodgrain for the roof, door, and window frame. The light behind the window, the keyhole, and some leaves were cut from Sticky Note, and then a bunch more leaves were cut from Chili Pepper, Fake Tan, and Raspberry.

I used Noble Fir for the vines, and also for my grasses, which I die-cut with the grass from Mushroom Border. I cut the steps out of Narwhal, and then traced the door frame on that as well, so I could trim out a piece to fit behind.

I stamped a sentiment on the bottom grass panel in Noble Fir ink

For my card base, I cut down and folded a piece of Mermaid cardstock, then I added one grassy border flat to the card, and popped up the front one with foam tape.

Next I built my little house, adding a squirrel inside the door, sleeping on the job of guarding the nuts! Then I decorated the house with vines and leaves and added my sweet little squirrels to complete the scene. As a final touch, I added a few stamped grasses from Mom + Me in Noble Fir ink.

If you’d like to see how this card came together, you can check out in the video tutorial on my YouTube channel, Christy Gets Crafty.

We are loving the projects we’ve been seeing come in for our Awesome Autumn challenge! If you haven’t had a chance to join us yet, you still have time to play along; this challenge is open until Sunday, October 4th at 11:59PM ET.

Awesome Autumn Inspiration with Samantha!

Samantha is here today to share an awesome slimline card for our new Awesome Autumn challenge! She created a long scene for a long sentiment!

Samantha used Large Slimline with Sliders to die cut a tall panel and blended Distress Oxide inks in Tumbled Glass, Wilted Violet, Blueprint Sketch, Mermaid Lagoon and Peacock Feathers. She added some dimension by sprinkling water to react with the oxide ink to leave random droplets.

She stamped and colored with Zig markers images from Into the Woods, Dandy Day, Really High Five, Super Star, A Bug Deal, You’re Just My Type and Love Poems. She arranged the images and attached them with foam tape.

The timely sentiment was white embossed on Black Licorice cardstock using Harold’s ABCs. Samantha trimmed the words into strips and popped them up on the card with foam tape. As a finishing touch, she added a bit of sparkle to the acorns with Prisma glitter!

Thanks so much for inspiring us today, Samantha!
