We are so happy to welcome Mimi as our Guest Designer for this challenge! You probably know and follow her as dasmimz on Instagram. She has been impressing us with her amazing creativity and we are so excited to share her New Year projects! Look for her second card to inspire you next week!

Mimi was inspired by the cool bokeh image in the Inspiration Board to create this amazing design! The Snow Much Fun and Den Sweet Den bears are celebrating the new year in style! Mimi used Let’s Bokeh to make a festive backdrop for her cheery scene! To make this an interactive card, Mimi used the Waving Pull-Tab Starter Set to make the bear wave his paws with the party accessories.

Now let’s check out the Happy New Year projects by our amazing Design Team!

The Really High Five critters are flyin’ by with Happy New Year wishes on Caly‘s fun design! She used the Puffy Cloud Backdrop: Portrait to create the that awesome background which she blended with pretty pastel inks! She used Oliver’s Stitched 123s in glittery gold and a Fancy Wavy Banner to stamped with a Winter Wavy Sayings sentiment to complete the happy greeting!

Franci’s mice are baking up a sweet wish for the new year! She combined A Creature Was Stirring and Baked with Love to create this lovely confection!

Samantha was inspired by the bokeh image in the inspiration board! She used Let’s Bokeh to create shiny clear embossed “bubbles” on a beautifully inked backdrop! The greeting is found in the Let’s Bokeh set as well.

Karin‘s card is so beautiful with its colorful Stitched Poinsettia and Oliver’s Stitched 123s in metallic gold! I love the pretty Quilted Backdrop behind the flower and all the fun layers!

Christy‘s beautiful interactive card is a wonderful mix of old and new! She created a Magic Iris Snow Globe Add-On design featuring Ready Set Snow, Let It Shine papers and a greeting from Merry Messages!

Samantha used a festive color palette with shiny gold and gray to create this happy new year card! She combined Scripty Cheers with cute images from Party Animal with Metallic Gold and Shimmer cardstock. The star in the background is our classic Puffy Star Stackables cut from Cream Sprinkle and Shine Let It Shine paper!

Jessica‘s design features a Woodland Critter Hugger decked out in accessories from the Winter Add-On on a tall slimline card! When you open the critters arms the greeting combining Happy Happy Happy Add-On and Scripty Cheers is completed using Finley’s 123s!

Joyce created a lovely card with wishes for a year filled with happiness using Tree Before ‘n Afters! It is simply beautiful!

Jenn is the bringing the sparkly bling and bold bokeh in her new year design! She used Oliver’s Stitched ABCs and 123s to spell out the Chunky and Prisma Glitter sprinkled greeting! She finished the message on a Fancy Folded Banner!

Now let’s see how our amazing Design Team made their Cards for Guys!

Franci combined the large tree from Christmas Dreams with the snowboarding and popsicle snacking Yeti or Not cutie on her clean and simple design! She added a colorful Offset Sayings: Christmas greeting!

Christy created an amazing underwater Christmas card for her scuba-diving enthusiast brother! She used Christmas Fishes, You Are Sublime and Mermaid for You!

Samantha‘s birthday card features some cool guy-friendly colors to create the inky background for the One in a Chameleon critter! She turned the Leafy Tree Backdrop (die cut from the back side of the Fall Fling 6×6 paper) around to use it on the right side of her card, then she die cut it again from kraft cardstock to layer over the top! She included a Tiny Tag Sayings: Birthday sentiment in a Say What? Pets speech bubble.

Jessica‘s Yeti or Not birthday card is fun and cool and perfect for the guys in your life! She created the awesome mini scene with Stitched Mountain Borders!

If you are in the Southern Hemisphere, Karin‘s card is timely inspiration for you! She used images from Smooth Sailing and created a great ocean scene with Tropical Backdrop!

This charming birthday card by Joyce will make anyone’s day! She added a hat from Dad+Me to the character from Screen Time and made a Fall scene using the trees and apples from Tree Before ‘n Afters! The Build-A-House has a fun brick pattern and some friendly birds from Open Me!

Caly‘s Beam Me Up birthday card has a fun interactive element courtesy of the Let’ Toast Pull Tab Add-On! She created an awesome inky backdrop for this outer space scene!

Clearly our Design Team thinks that snowboarding and yetis are perfect for Cards for Guys! Samantha M added her signature style with an ink blended and splattered background and the stripey accent of black and white! She resisted the pull to add sequins or glitter to keep this fun design guy-friendly!

Jenn‘s Ready Set Snow snow globe design has just enough sparkle to suggest snow but she kept this card clean, simple and colorful! She used a mix of Lawn Fawn ink in Merman, Cilantro and Minty Fresh to create the background. Her snowmen are stamped with River Rock ink for a toned down look!

We will share Design Team inspiration for you over the next 2 weeks and we’ll announce our Featured Fawnatics and random winner for Challenge 63 tomorrow!

Franci’s Snowglobe Ornament Cards

Hello there! Franci here with you today with a couple of fun holiday projects inspired by the current challenge Winter Holidays challenge!

It’s been a magical year at Lawn Fawnatics for me and I can’t wait for all the new adventures and happiness 2019 will bring! So for today I thought it would have been fun going back to 2017 when I first made a project for Lawn Fawnatics as a guest! Did you remember my mini snowglobe cards?! I love them so much! I was inspired by them to create these new cards…

I called them cards/ornaments because the little snowglobes actually come off the cards pretty easily so you can add them to the Christmas tree as little paper decors!

To make these I used a lots of Lawn Fawn products! First, I love the Really Rainbow Christmas paper! I die cut my snowglobe out of these beautiful holiday-patterned papers and die cut all the other elements from the Ready, Set, Snow Shaker Add-On set from white cardstock. I colored the snowy sky with some Distress Ink blue shades and then I stamped, colored and die cut all the critters. I also used some Lawn fawn inks for the little mistletoe and the pretty bows with Jalapeno and Guava colors. I glued everything together and added some details with white gel pen.

These cute hedgehogs from the Hedgehugs set are so cute and the seals from Sealed with a Kiss are the perfect Christmas couple!! I kept my card bases pretty simple but I decorated them with some Red Sparkle twine and 2 strips of another patterned paper that matches well my colors, always from Really Rainbow Christmas.

Hope you like my festive projects and thank you so much for stopping by today!
Have a lovely day,
Franci

The Winter Holiday challenge will be open until 11:59Pm ET on Sunday, December 16th. We hope you will join us!

Happy crafting from your friends at Lawn Fawnatics!
