We are so happy to have a very talented Guest Designer joining us for this challenge! Say hello to Ashley Young! Her whimsical scene cards always make us smile and we know she will inspire you too!

Ashley‘s slimline scene features an amusement park filled with happy Tiny Friends! She used Coaster Critters images to set the scene along with the castle from Life is Good! A couple of princesses from Tiny Fairy Tale look right at home!

The “magical” greeting looks amazing with Chunky Glitter adding lots of sparkle! She combined the Finley’s ABCs with a sentiment from Unicorn Picnic!

Now let’s check out some inspiration from our very own experts in “creating scenes”, our wonderful Design Team!

Karin‘s fantastic scene features our cute Wild for You critters enjoying the nightlife with a fruity beverage! She created a silhouette with the Tropical Backdrop and Little Town Border filling the night sky with lots of stars!

Christy gathered some cute critters to do some gardening! She started with Some Bunny for all the gardening images, then added friends from Jump for Joy and Crazy Antics! She filled in the background with Grassy Border. I love how she used the “chip bag” from Crazy Antics to create seed packets, that is just so clever!

Samantha‘s kitchen scene starts with combining the Sprinkled with Joy stove with “cabinets” made using You’re Just My Type! Then she added lots of mice and yummy baked goods from A Creature Was Stirring and Bubbles of Joy! She used Spring Sparkle and Textured Dot Pastel cardstock for the background and finished the card with You’re Sweet Line Border!

Joyce set the scene for her Virtual Friends design with a patterned paper wall and White Woodgrain cardstock floor! She added cute details to her scene using books and the lamp from Den Sweet Den. While the cat from Keep on Swimming is celebrating a birthday with friends online his cute puffer fish is sending birthday greetings from his fish bowl!

Warm weather is coming so Samantha created an amazing beach scene! She filled the sunny sky with some puffy clouds from All the Clouds then she added waves and the sand with layers of Stitched Hillside Borders for the On the Beach fox and a rainbow colored umbrella!

Sometimes an amazing scene doesn’t need lots of scene building dies! Franci assembled whimsical images from Fox Costumes Before ‘n Afters with Baked with Love and Unicorn Picnic for maximum cuteness in her clean and simple style!

Jessica used Puffy Cloud Backdrop: Portrait to build this happy scene! The lovely pastel colors of the clouds are carried throughout the Bubbles of Joy bubbles and Scripty Bubble Sentiments! She added a sentiment from Thanks a Bushel as a finish for her adorable thank you card!

Caly stenciled pretty clouds using the Cloudy Stencil and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink. Then she tinted the hills of the Stitched Hillside Backdrop: Landscape with Mowed Lawn. This sweet scene comes together with images from Butterfly Kisses and Butterfly Kisses Flip-Flop!

Let’s see how our talented Design Team was inspired by Spring!

Gardening is a fun Spring activity and Samantha has the Some Bunny critters hard at work! For the background she combined Meadow Borders and Stitched Garden Border with pastel Shimmer and Gold Rush cardstock!

Christy‘s sunny design combines Happy Village with some Tiny Friends! She created a cheery scene on a Stitched Circle layered with a Scalloped Circle! All the pretty patterned papers add to the fun!

Joyce paired a Spring Critter Hugger with our new Build-A-Basket: Easter! She filled the basket with beautifully colored carrots from Stitched Garden Border!

Caly‘s card recreates one of the images from the Inspiration Board with a combination of Stitched Sun Frame and Cattails Border! You can almost feel the warmth of this smiling shaker sun!

For her circle shaped card, Karin created a sweet little scene using Dandy Day mice and a pretty Spring tree from Tree Before ‘n Afters.

Samantha‘s card is adorable and perfect for Father’s Day! She used Stitched Pond and Sandy Beach Accents to create a for the cute ducks from Rub-A-Dub-Dub to swim! I love the how she included the little “duck” from Easter Party, it adds lots of fun and whimsy!

Jessica also used the little Rub-A-Dub-Dub ducks for her charming Spring shower card! She kept it clean and simple with the look of water made with alcohol ink!

Franci‘s Spring Critter Huggers are whimsical focal points for her pretty pastel cards! Filled with candy they are perfect for Easter or Spring party favors!

Peter Rabbit Inspiration with Christy

Hey friends, it’s Christy here with another card for our Inspired by a Book, Movie, or Song Challenge! I have been loving watching the entries come in and am blown away by your creativity!

For my card today, I wanted to depict another classic children’s tale and one of my personal favorites: Peter Rabbit. I pulled together images from Some Bunny, Happy Harvest, A Bug Deal, Our Friendship Grows, and Critters on the Farm to make it happen.

The first thing I needed to do was to alter my bunny and give him a little jacket just like Peter’s. So I drew it in pencil and then traced over it with a Memento Tuxedo Black Pen. I also altered the watering can to give it a top with a little opening at the front, to resemble the one in the illustrations. Then I colored all my images with Copic markers to match as closely as possible, and trimmed them out with the matching dies.

For the background, I took the second largest of the Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables and die cut some Mermaid Cardstock for the sky. Then I used the Grassy Border on some Cilantro for the grass, and the Simple Stitched Hillside Borders on Ground Coffee for the dirt. I stamped a sentiment from Some Bunny at the top of the sky panel in Peacock Ink.

To give the card a cozy look, I added a piece of patterned paper from the Perfectly Plaid Remix 6×6, die cut with the largest of the Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables to my Speckled Eggshell card base. Then I popped my focal panel up with foam tape and adhered my images with liquid glue to create the nostalgic scene in Mr. MacGregor’s garden. I also added a bit of Stardust Stickles for a little sparkle and shine.

I also finished off the inside of the card by stamping another classic scene from the book, but you can check that out in the video tutorial on my YouTube channel, Christy Gets Crafty.

If you haven’t had a chance to play along in our challenge yet, there’s still time! The Inspired By challenge will be open until Sunday, April 4th at 11:59PM ET. I can’t wait to see what you create!
