Caly’s Happy Holiday Yeti

Hi there! It’s Caly with you today sharing a project for the Holiday Critters Challenge!  This is an extra long challenge and runs 3 weeks, so you’ll have lots of time to play and enter.  The challenge ends on December 5th at 11:59pm PT.  Be sure to link up your projects on the “current challenge” post located at the top of the page.

My card today uses images from a few winter stamp sets.  I used primarily the Yeti or Not set.  I love these adorable yeti and use it every chance I get.  I also used a house from the Winter Village set, the tree line from the Simply Celebrate Winter set, and snowmen from the Ready Set Snow set.

I stamped and colored all of the images with Copic markers.  When done, I die-cut them and set them aside to work on the background.  I ink-blended a panel with Distress Oxide Inks in Tattered Rose, Worn Lipstick and Picked Raspberry, then  lined it with three layers of Stitched Hillside Borders.

Reds:  R21, R22, R27
Oranges:  YR30, YR61, YR66, YR68, Y17
Greens:  G21, G24, G28
Teals:  BG10, BG11, BG13
Blues:  B00, B0000, BG000, BG02, BG07
Browns:  E31, E35
Yeti:  W00, W1, W3, R30

I colored the top of the hillside borders with the BG10 marker to give it a splash of color and contrast between the layers.  I adhered the first two layers right over my ink-blended panel.  The very top layer is attached with foam adhesive to give it more dimension.

I finished by stamping my sentiment at the top of the card panel, attaching my images to create a fun scene.  Lastly, I added some white gel highlights throughout to give these images more interest.

I hope you like it!  There will be lots of inspiration throughout the next 2.5 weeks, so be sure to check back here on the blog or the #lawnfawnatics hashtag on Instagram.  Again, this challenge ends on December 5th at 11:59pm PT.
Happy crafting!

Adorable Happy Holiday Critters Inspiration with our Guest Designer Valerie

Our Happy Holiday Critters challenge has one more week until the gallery closes! We are so impressed with all the great entries so far! We hope you will check out all the amazing inspiration and join the fun!

Today we are happy to share another fantastic Happy Holiday Critters card by our Guest Designer Valerie!

This tall slimline design is perfect for Valerie’s multi-layered Winter Village scene! It is complete with adorable yetis snowboarding and enjoying frosty treats!

Using a combination of Stitched Hillside Borders and Simple Stitched Hillside Borders, all cut from Pixie Dust Sparkle cardstock, Valerie was able to create the look of a charming winter village on a snow-covered mountainside!

I love that Valerie added a fun interactive element by creating a slider for the cool snowboarding yeti!

Valerie included the Tiny Christmas Santa with the sleigh and reindeer from Over the Mountain Borders at the top! She used two patterns from the Into the Woods Remix collection: the clouds of Spruce Remix and the happy orange stripes of Oak Remix!

Thank you so much for joining us for this challenge, Valerie! We loved sharing your amazing cards; your creativity totally inspired us!
