It’s the last weekend for the Color Inspiration Challenge and Mimi shares a beautiful card to inspire you! She used the challenge color inspiration to create an amazing under the sea scene with a message of thanks!

Mimi created the deep-sea background using Desert Canyon Backdrop, inking it with Prize Ribbon Distress Oxide Ink. Then she filled the sandy ocean floor with images from You Are Sublime and Fintastic Friends.

I love how she used the tiny critters from Wheely Great Day to fill the submarine portholes! And it’s so clever to have the lobster holding the speech bubble that finishes the sentiment!

Thank you so much for this brilliant inspiration, Mimi!

It’s the last weekend for the Summertime Fun – Critters on Vacation challenge and Christy shares a brilliant card to inspire you!

Hey friends, it’s Christy here with another card for our Summertime Fun Challenge! For this one I wanted to create a festive and fun little mermaid party. And what brings the summertime fun better than ice cream? I combined images from Treat Cart, Mermaid for You, Ocean Shell-fie, and Fintastic Friends. I stamped the images in Jet Black Ink, colored them with my Copic markers, and trimmed them out with their matching dies.

Then I cut out a panel of Bristol Cardstock with the Outside In Stitched Rectangle Stackables and another with the Stitched Simple Wavy Borders. I blended on Distress Oxide Inks, using Salvaged Patina and Peacock Feathers for the sea, and Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs for the sand. I did some splatter on both panels to give them some texture, then stamped a sentiment at the bottom right and adhered these two pieces together, then to a Tide Pool card base.

I adhered my images with a combination of foam tape and liquid glue and finished off the card with a bit of sparkle using Stardust Stickles. I also did some stamping on the inside in Peacock Ink.

If you’d like to watch the whole process of creating this card, you can check out the video tutorial on my YouTube channel, Christy Gets Crafty! We hope you’re enjoying our Summertime Fun – Critters on Vacation challenge. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Thank you for inspiring us today, Christy! I love this fun scene!

Hey friends, it’s Christy here with another card for our Summertime Fun: Critters on Vacation Challenge! My favorite way to spend my birthday is taking a road trip and visiting someplace new. And that is just what this little dog named Sandy is doing on his big day — taking a trip to the beach! He’s got all his favorite toys with him and he’s even made a little friend. I combined images from Yappy Birthday, Yappy Birthday Add-On, On the Beach, Pool Party, and Fintastic Friends. I stamped all the images in Jet Black Ink, colored them with Copic markers, and trimmed them out with the matching dies.

To build the background, I blended Distress Oxide Inks onto a panel of Bristol Smooth Surface Cardstock. I started by creating a sky using Salvaged Patina along with the Cloudy Stencil. Then I masked off the bottom with a torn strip of Post-it Tape, and used Salvaged Patina, Evergreen Bough, and Peacock Feathers to create the water. Then I masked off the edges of both of those sections and used Antique Linen and Vintage Photo in the center for the sand. I also did some splatter with both inks and the Gansai Tambi Starry Colors.

I trimmed that panel down with the second largest of the Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables and stamped my sentiment in the top right corner. Then I trimmed down some Fruit Salad 6×6 patterned paper with the largest of the Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables. I glued this to the front of a Speckled Eggshell card base and popped the focal panel up with foam tape.

I adhered my images with liquid glue and added sparkle with a touch of Stardust Stickles. On the inside, I finished the card by stamping in Mermaid Ink. If you’d like to watch this card come together, you can check out the video tutorial on my YouTube channel, Christy Gets Crafty! Thanks so much for stopping by!
