Samantha’s Sunny Desert Design Inspired by Grace!

You are invited to share your creativity by linking up your crafty projects at the end of this post! Your project should feature Lawn Fawn stamps, dies, stencils and papers. This challenge will run for 2 weeks and be open until Sunday, May 18 at 11:59pm ET.

Samantha found her inspiration in this beautiful design by Grace!


Samantha recreated Grace’s card in her own style using Fly High and Critters in the Desert. She used Sunray Backdrop and a modified Desert Canyon Backdrop to create the desert scenery. She also brought in Rainbow Ever After petite paper like Grace, along with Spiffier Speckles, Stripes ‘n Sprinkles and Watercolor Wishes petite papers.

Samantha’s Car Critters Scene

Hey everyone, Samantha here with a card that is inspired by the current Create a Scene challenge! I always love creating scenes, because they are so fun to build. 

I created a cute road trip scene, that is perfect for summertime adventure! The Car Critters stamp set is so adorable, I love how you can add the different critters in the car. There are additional stamps that can create fun license plates or a grill on the front of the car. I wanted to create a scene with a lot of depth.

I wanted to create a scene with a lot of depth. I started with the Sunray Backdrop on a piece of Watercolor Wishes Petite 6×6 paper. A grass border from the Grassy Hillside Borders set creates a charming ground. I used the Simple Road Border set for the road. I placed two roads together to ensure it would be wide enough for the car. The curve of the road lines up perfectly, so you are able to fit them together nicely.

A Sweet Big Thanks Card with Samantha!

Hey everyone, Samantha here with a card inspired by the current Something Old, Something New challenge. I created the sweetest thank you card using the HA + Lawn Fawn Big Thanks stamp set. I love the rhinos in this set so much and their little bird friends are just adorable. You can really create a fun scene with this set! 

I wanted to try something different with my rhinos, so I stamped them on the Spiffy Speckles paper and then colored the shadows with my Copic markers. I wanted to make sure that I didn’t over-saturate the paper because I was looking for a subtle shadowing. I applied the same technique for the birds and the landscape elements. 

My background was created by layering two background die cuts together. I used Watercolor Wishes paper and layered the Stitched Hillside Backdrop; Landscape on top of the Sunray Backdrop. I cut another Stitched Hillside Backdrop; Landscape out of the Spiffy Speckles paper and layered it on top of the ground, leaving the darker pink watercolor paper to frame the sky.
