An Apple For The Teacher with Caly!

Hi Friends! It’s Caly with you today sharing a teacher’s appreciation card for the current challenge. It’s back to school time and this year has been so challenging for everyone. Teachers are truly heroes and need recognition!

The Back to School challenge will be open until Sunday, September 20 at 11:59PM ET. I hope you will join us!

Apples are the one of the many symbols for teachers – so I created an apple card today using the Outside In Stitched Apple Stackables. I used a few other dies to create the face for the cute apple – Woodland Critter Huggers for the cheeks and mouth and Large Wreath for the eyes.

I die-cut the parts using Lawn Fawn cardstock in Chili Pepper, Paper Bag, Cilantro, Ballet Slippers and Black Licorice. Once I got everything pieced together, I added foam adhesive to the back to adhere my apple to a piece of rainbow patterned paper from the Really Rainbow 6×6 Petite Paper Pack.

For my sentiment, I embossed the words “you are my” from the Village Heroes set over black cardstock. I centered it at the top of my apple and adhered it down with foam adhesive.

To make the word “hero” stand out more, I die-cut it in black cardstock using Oliver’s Stitched ABCs. I centered and adhered these letters to my card panel with foam adhesive at the bottom of my card.

I hope you enjoyed this card! Sometimes the most meaningful cards are the simplest ones! Thanks so much for stopping by today!

A Forest Feast Scene on a Gift Tag!

We hope you have been enjoying this fun challenge theme! Our Create a Scene challenge is open until Sunday September 17 at 11:59 PM ET

A scene can be small enough to fit on a tag! Making cute little vignettes on tags and small gift cards is a fun and quick way to create a scene!

I thought I’d pop in to share a gift tag I made to accompany a birthday gift!

I love little projects like this where I can use lots of different supplies! I started out with the larger Stitched Circle Tag die cut from Knock on Wood 6×6 paper in teal and green then I used Forest Border to die cut the green tag. I stamped and colored images from our new Forest Feast and also from Party Animal with Copic markers then assembled the scene on the layered tag. To embellish a little more I added some branches from Large Wreath cut from more Knock on Wood 6×6 paper and finished with a bow (from Large Wreath). The sentiment, from Tiny Tag Sayings: Birthday is white embossed. I combined a bunch of different Lawn Trimmings cord in Fall colors to tie up the tag on the gift!

I hope you will join us for our Create a Scene Challenge!

Thanks for your visit! Happy Crafting!
