A Super Happy Holiday Critter Card with Christy

Hey friends, it’s Christy here with another card for our Happy Holiday Critters Challenge! I love making scene cards, and I combined so many different sets into this one. I used Beary Happy Holidays, Cheery Christmas, Mice on Ice, Holiday Helpers, Yeti or Not, and Simply Celebrate Winter. I colored all my images with Copic markers and trimmed them out with the matching dies.

For the background, I used a piece of bokeh paper from the Snow Day Remix 6×6 pad for the sky. I added stitching detail to the edges with the Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables, then added some tree silhouettes with the Stitched Tree Border. Overtop of that, I layered two Stitched Hillside Borders, one glued flat to the card, and the other popped up with foam tape.

I cut out an icy pond using the Bayou Backdrop and heat embossed a little swirl of ice skating tracks from Mice on Ice. I added that to the lower left corner of the card. Then I added my images into the scene with a combo of liquid glue and foam tape.

The little snowman was from Simply Celebrate Winter. I just masked him off from the rest of his friends when stamping and used the dies to cut out most of him, and my Cutter Bee scissors to trim down the rest.

To finish things off, I added a sentiment stamped in Bubblegum Ink and trimmed out with an Everyday Sentiment Banner, and a bit of Stardust Stickles for a little sparkle.

I also finished off the inside using Simply Celebrate Winter, which you can check out in the video tutorial on my YouTube channel, Christy Gets Crafty.

The Happy Holiday Critters challenge will be open until Sunday December 6 at 11:59PM ET. We hope you will join us!

Thank you so much for sharing with us today, Christy!

Have a fun and crafty weekend, friends!

Lots of Love Inspiration with our Guest Designer Janneke!

Janneke has a pair of charming interactive pull tab cards to inspire your Lots of Love challenge crafting!

For the first card, Janneke created a happy scene using the Bugs and Kisses set! She used Let’s Toast Pull Tab Add-On to make the interactive mechanism! She filled out the scene with grassy hills from the Mushroom Border die set, then added the sentiment from Wavy Sayings on a Fancy Wavy Banner! Such a fun card!

Janneke describes how she made it look like the little bug was inside the jar. “I have stamped the jar and cut out the inside. Then I die cut the jar out from an acetate sheet and glued the jar stamp on it. With the pull tab, the bug escapes from the jar and goes to the other bug.” Such a clever idea!

For her second card, Janneke combined Bicycle Built for You with Screen Time to make the cute couple. The box is from Holiday Helpers and the heart “balloons” are from Bugs and Kisses! The sentiment is stamped on a banner from Bannertastic!

I love this sweet interactive card and how Janneke made it look like the heart balloons are flying out the box! She used the video game wires from Screen Time as the balloon tails! That is such a clever idea!

Thank you so much, Janneke! We have loved sharing your amazing creativity!

You have another week to join our Lots of Love challenge. It will be open until Sunday, February 16th.
