We are happy to welcome our Guest Designer for this challenge, Laura Franzoni! One peek at her Instagram feed and you will be a fan like we are! She loves all things Autumn so she is the perfect choice to guest for this challenge!

To inspire you today, Laura created fun seasonal home decor!

To create this adorable pumpkin decoration, Laura started with the Center Picture Window Card die set; cutting it multiple times from Canned Pumpkin cardstock.

She filled each of the windows with a cute Fall themed scene using images from Pick of the Patch, Forest Feast and Jump for Joy!

If you want to recreate Laura’s fantastic pumpkins, she provided this handy cutting list. Please check out her Instagram for more on how she created this fun Fall decor!

Not wanting to waste any cardstock, Laura created mini pumpkins using the ovals cut from the Center Picture Window Card! She added Stitched Leaves and cute tag!

Now let’s see how our awesome Design Team was inspired by our Awesome Autumn challenge theme!

Caly created a cheery scene for the Pick of the Patch squirrels in bright and happy colors! She use Stitched Hillside Borders inked a pretty green. Then she cut the tree tops from Stitched Tree Borders from Knit Picky Fall paper along with the leaves from Leafy Tree Backdrop: Portrait!

Christy had some fun with our new Let’s Go Nuts set! She created fun Fall scenes in the windows of the Peekaboo Backdrop!

Franci combined two cute mini sets, Thankful Mice and Cutie Pie to create a sweet Thanksgiving card! She stamped the soft and pretty background with Gingham Backdrops with Kiddie Pool ink!

Bright, happy colors and playful squirrels make Jessica‘s Autumn-themed card special! She used the Acorn House and Lift the Flap Tree Backdrop to create her adorable forest scene.

Joyce used our Thanks a Latte set to make a fun design featuring favorite hot beverages for Fall! She added pumpkins from Happy Harvest and created a sweet border using Stitched Scalloped Borders!

Karin‘s happy little Autumn scene features the fun critters from Jump for Joy! To add interest to her clean and simple design she masked a circle to ink up a backdrop for the branch from A Bug Deal!

Samantha‘s fun little collage design highlights the PSL that signals the start of the Fall season! She used the little to-go cups from Love You A Latte with pumpkins from Costume Party! The Stitched Leaves are die cut from vellum and polka dotted paper! She decorated the background with the Starry Sky stencil and embossing paste tinted with Distress inks. The perfect sentiment is from the Pumpkin Spice mini set!

Samantha created the cutest Fall forest scene with Acorn House, Lift the Flap Tree Backdrop and some cute critters from Let’s Go Nuts and Den Sweet Den!

Jenn‘s fantastic forest scene starts with an amazing ink blended backdrop! She altered the Lift the Flap Tree Backdrop to work on a portrait oriented card using the Stitched Rectangle Frame to finish the edges. The colorful leaves and playful squirrels add to this fun Fall scene! I love how she used gold embossing powder on the Thanks Thanks Thanks sentiment!

We will share Design Team inspiration for you over the next 2 weeks and we’ll announce our Featured Fawnatics and random winner for Challenge 84 tomorrow!

Jessica’s Cute and Fishy Back to School Inspiration

Good morning! Jess here with a fishy card for our current Back to School challenge!

I decided to use a school of fish as the basis for my card! I started by stamping the teacher shark and a ton of fish from Duh-Nuh onto a panel of Strathmore Bristol smooth cardstock. I also stamped a few fish onto a separate piece of white cardstock. Then I stamped the shark and the fish a few times on a stack of full sheet post-it notes and fussy cut them to create masks. I placed a mask over every stamped image to prep it for ink-blending!

Next I used the Hillside, Ocean Wave, and Scene Builder: Bayou stencils to create a background on the stamped panel. I used tumbled glass, peacock feathers, blueprint sketch, and chipped sapphire distress oxide ink for the waves, chipped sapphire for the bayou, and antique linen and tea dye distress oxide ink for the sand. Then I splattered water across the panel and a little watered down gathered twigs and tea dye distress oxide ink across the sand. I dried it with my heat gun and then removed all of the masks!

Then it was time to color! I used Y32, 35, and 38 for the fish and also colored the separately stamped fish before fussy-cutting them. I used neutral grays for the shark. Then I die-cut the sentiment using Finley’s ABCs and Black Licorice cardstock. I adhered the letters across the panel and then added a few of my fussy cut fish in and around the letters. In hindsight I wish I had one more fish to add above the L but we’ll pretend he’s running late today! 😉

Next I stamped the rest of the sentiment from Thanks a Bushel onto Black Licorice cardstock and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder. I trimmed it down to a thin label and adhered it to the card. Finally I used a black glaze pen to define the eyes of the fish and shark and finish the card!

And that’s it! You have one more weekend to get crafty for Lawn Fawnatics Back to School challenge and I can’t wait to see what you’ll create! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a fabulous weekend!
Jess
