Caly’s Cute Halloween Bats!

Hi, Friends!

This is Caly and I’m sharing a fun card made using bat Lawn Cuts. My project today combines the Woodland Critter Huggers Bat Add-On and the Tiny Gift Box Bat Add-On dies. I love when you can use 3D interactive dies on cards to make it a one-layer project!

To create my card, I first die-cut my bats. In order to create the mother bat, I first die-cut the bat body using the Woodland Critter Huggers Lawn Cut.  Then the other bat parts and candy came from the add-on set. The cardstock colors I used for the bats are Narwhal and Storm Cloud. I simply ink-blended Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink around the outer edges of the Narwal-colored pieces to give them a little more interest.

The smaller bats are created from the Tiny Gift Box Bat Add-On – I love the different wings and the bat vest, not to mention the cute little candy corn die. The candy and cheeks on my card are all cut using white cardstock and ink-blended with Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide Inks.

After assembling my bats, I added white gel highlights and then started working on my background.  I cut a strip of brown Woodgrain cardstock to create a branch from which the mother bat hangs. I ink-blended the branch piece with Vintage Photo to add some shading also.

To create my background, I ink-blended a few colors from the challenge inspiration board using Peacock Feathers, Mowed Lawn and Mustard Seed.  I sprayed it with some water and also splattered it with watered-down black paint and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide Ink. Then I attached the mother bat and the flying bat with foam adhesive and the tucked the other small bat behind the mother bat. To finish my card, the sentiment is stamped from the Costume Party stamp set.

I love these bats against the fun and colorful background and I hope you do too! Thanks so much for stopping by today! You have a few more days to join the fun and I hope I’ve inspired you!

Thank you, Caly, for inspiring us today!
