Jessica’s So Smooth Card!

Good morning! Jess here with a card for our current Color Inspiration Mood Board challenge! I absolutely LOVE the colors in this mood board plus the gorgeous flecks of gold! I decided they’d be perfect for a punny smoothie card!

To start I stamped the images from So Smooth onto white cardstock with Clear Embossing ink and heat-embossed them with gold embossing powder. I colored them with Copic markers, die-cut them with the coordinating dies, and added a few accents with a white gel pen. I also stamped my sentiment from So Smooth onto black cardstock and heat-embossed it with gold embossing powder before trimming it down to a thin label. Then I colored a scrap piece of white cardstock to resemble a smoothie to use as the background for my blender shaker.

Next I used the same Copic refills and added drops of color on a piece of Yupo paper. I used a plastic bristle paintbrush to resemble the mood board photo. Once the alcohol ink was dry I brushed a little liquid glue onto the alcohol ink and pressed gold foil over it. I let the glue dry and then brushed off the excess foil leaving behind a few sparkly, shimmery bits over the alcohol ink background!

Then I die-cut the blender from the Yupo background and adhered acetate behind the opening. I applied a layer of foam tape around the opening and added in a few of the stamped and colored images, pink beads, and a little chunky glitter. I adhered my smoothie background to the foam tape and then turned the panel over and inlaid the blender over the acetate to create my shaker.

Finally I arranged all my images around the blender and behind the sentiment and adhered them with liquid glue. I added the sentiment with foam mounting tape. To finish I added Spectrum Noir clear sparkle to the glass and added a layer of Nuvo crystal glaze so that the glass would really shine!

And that’s my card! You have one more weekend to get crafty with your mood board creations and I can’t wait to see what you create! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a fantastic day! –Jess

Our Color Inspiration Mood Board challenge ends this Sunday night, February 17 at 11:59PM ET. We are looking forward to seeing how you are inspired!
