Jessica’s Dreamy Unicorn Card!

Good morning! Jess here with a card for our current Pet Love challenge! I decided to think back to my childhood and my dream pet…so here’s what I created! 😉

To start I did a little ink smooshing to create my pastel sky. I smooshed tumbled glass, shaded lilac, and salty ocean Distress Oxide inks onto a piece of acetate, spritzed them with water and then pressed the acetate to a piece of watercolor paper. I held the acetate in place for a few seconds and then lifted it off carefully. I let the ink dry and then spritzed it with iridescent spray for a little extra sparkle. Then I die-cut the Puffy Cloud Border from white cardstock and vellum. I adhered them to the watercolor panel with ATG and vellum adhesive.

Next I stamped the adorable unicorn from Critters Ever After onto white cardstock and colored her with Copic markers before die-cutting her with the coordinating die. I also stamped the sentiment onto black cardstock and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder before trimming it down to a thin label. I tucked my unicorn into between the clouds and adhered the sentiment with foam mounting tape. Then I took a cheap paintbrush and brushed a little liquid glue over some of the cloud tops and sprinkled them with Chunky and Prisma Glitter. I tapped off the excess and let it dry. Finally I added a trio of iridescent sequins to finish the card!

And that’s it! You have one more weekend to get crafty and I can’t wait to see how pets inspire you! Thanks so much for stopping by and have an amazing day!
Jess

Samantha’s Beautiful Rainbow!

I am so excited to see all of the amazing projects you are sharing in the What’s the Weather? challenge gallery! You guys are so creative! And just in case you need more inspiration, Samantha joins us today with a beautiful card that features our Rainbow die!

To create this colorful rainbow, Samantha ink blended each stripe with Distress ink! Then to add lots of awesome dimension she splattered the rainbow with white acrylic paint! She stamped the large smiling face from Let’s Toast on the rainbow and layered it behind Puffy Cloud Borders cut from white cardstock and vellum!

To finish this fabulous design with extra fun, Samantha added stars with embossing paste with a star stencil over the whole card! Then she added her special sentiment from Critters at the Dog Park!

Thank you so much, Samantha, for sharing this incredible inspiration with us today!

Our What’s the Weather? challenge will be open until Sunday, March 3 at 11:59PM ET. We hope you will join us!

Let’s check out the favorite places of our amazing Design Team!

Samantha C. used our Stitched Mountain Borders to create a card with lovely snow-capped peaks. This serene mountain scene also features the Upon a Star foxes and the boulder from Mermaid for You. That starry night sky is amazing!

Samantha M is a beach girl and this beautiful card featuring Ahoy Matey gets that point across fabulously! That watercolor wave is just amazing! I love how Samantha added crystal sequins to make the wave sparkle!

Christy used Peekaboo Backdrop, Puffy Cloud Borders, Life is Good, Fintastic Friends and Lovable Legends to create small vignettes of an area in Germany that has captured her imagination! Be sure to check out her blog post for actual photos of the awesome castles!

Franci‘s favorite place is being outside in the snow during winter so she created some magical winter tags using Frosty Fairy Friends and Stitched Circle Tags!

Jessica is another ocean loving girl! She says, “my favorite place is in the water!  It’d just be an extra perk if I was a mermaid with a seahorse bestie!”

How fun that she used an Action Wobbler to add an interactive element to this special Mermaid for You card!

Joyce‘s favorite place is at home enjoying a movie or 2 with her friends! Who doesn’t love binge watching with good friends and lots of snacks? Her Screen Time card has me thinking about a fun evening at home!

After a long day of work, Karin‘s favorite place is soaking in a bubble bath! She used Rub-A-Dub-Dub to make this charming scene! Maybe she should keep it to just one rubber ducky if she wants it to be a relaxing time!

Jenn is another beach-loving girl, and she loves the beaches of Cape Cod! Her brilliant card could be part of a travel brochure! She combined the ocean sets Mermaid for You, Life is Good and You Are Sublime to create a beachy vibe. Quinn’s ABCs spell out her favorite place! I love how she used our retired set Wish You Were Here to show where her heart is at home on the map!

We will have Design Team inspiration for you over the next two weeks and of course our Featured Fawnatics and Random Winner for Challenge 33 tomorrow!
