Jessica’s Happy Halloween Inspiration!

Our Halloween/Fall Inspiration challenge will close this Sunday, October 18th at 11:59PM ET. Happy Crafting Fawnatics Friends!

Good morning!  Jess here with a card for our current Halloween/Fall inspiration challenge!  I used three of the photos as inspiration for my spooky scene today!

To start I blended black soot distress oxide ink over the cloud stencil on a panel of Strathmore Bristol smooth cardstock to create my sky.  I used a blending brush to keep my blending very light.  I die-cut a circle from Strathmore Bristol smooth cardstock and blended squeezed lemonade and mustard seed distress oxide ink over the circle to create my moon.  I splattered it with water and blotted off the excess to give it a little texture.  Next I die-cut the Stitched Tree Borders from Black Licorice cardstock and the Little Town Border from Black Licorice and Sunflower cardstock.  I adhered my moon to the background and then added the tree and town.  Then I inlaid the little windows and doors to recreate the skies and glowing windows from the inspiration photo!

Next I stamped images from Fox Costumes Before ‘n Afters, Costume Party, and Happy Harvest with Versafine and heat-embossed them with clear embossing powder.  I colored them with Copic markers and then die-cut them with the coordinating dies.  I added a few accents with a white gel pen and then added them to my scene with a mix of regular adhesive and foam mounting tape.  I finished the card with a sentiment from Costume Party stamped and heat-embossed with white embossing powder!

And that’s it!  You have one more weekend to get crafty and I can’t wait to see what you’ll create!  Thanks so much for stopping by and have a fantastic weekend!

Good morning! Jess here with a card for our current sketch challenge! I decided to be a little more abstract with the challenge this time…here’s what I created! 😉

To start I die-cut the Stitched Trails hearts onto a piece of Moonstone cardstock to represent the hearts in the sketch. Then I die-cut the sun from Spring Showers with Sunflower cardstock and blended a little Spiced Marmalade Distress oxide ink onto the edges for the large circle of the sketch. I also die-cut the Puffy Cloud Border and Stitched Hillside Border from white cardstock.

Next I die-cut the Forest Border from white cardstock and blended Cracked Pistachio and Evergreen Bough Distress oxide ink over it. Then I die-cut the Little Town Border from Raspberry cardstock and adhered tiny squares of Fog cardstock behind the houses for the windows and doors. The hills, houses, forest, and clouds represent the lines of the sketch. Next I stamped the sentiment from Rain or Shine Before ‘n Afters onto black cardstock and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder. I adhered the layers together and tucked the sun behind the forest. Finally I adhered the sentiment with foam mounting tape to finish the card.

And that’s it! You have two more weeks to get crafty and I can’t wait to see how the sketch inspires you! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a fabulous week!

We are so happy to have an amazing Guest Designer join us for this challenge! Please welcome Mayra Duran-Hernandez of Mayra’s Designs! We have been so inspired by her beautiful coloring and wonderfully creative card designs so we are so excited to share her gorgeous designs with you!

Mayra created a gorgeous Double Slider Surprise card and a coordinating Say What? Gift Tag with a sweet pastel color palette with happy pops of bright green! She combined images and sentiments from lots of sets including Love You a Latte, Pumpkin Spice, Holiday Helpers, Caramel Apple and Frosty Fairy Friends!

I love that Mayra created a second card with the same beautiful design but this time with gorgeous rich red in the mix!

Now let’s see how our talented Design Team was inspired by this happy color palette!

This fun Reveal Wheel card by Samantha M features Holiday Helpers wrapping gifts for everyone on the “nice list”! The Reveal Wheel Square Add-On is the perfect size for this cute scene!

Karin used the color inspiration to create a cheery Winter Village scene for our adorable Oh What Fun sleigh and Santa bear! She created a gorgeous snowy night sky with ink blending and some white paint splatters!

Joyce was inspired to create a set of colorful pastel Say What? Gift Tags! She stamped the tags with Gingham Backdrops in ink colors of Wild Rose, Moonstone, Celery Stick, Sunflower and Mermaid! She colored the Say What? Christmas Critters in colors to coordinate!

Franci got really creative and made a fun Snow Cool scene on a shaped card! She used Outside In Stitched Christmas Tree Stackables and Stitched Christmas Tree Frames to make this adorable tree-shaped card!

Franci added the cute little Snow Cool igloo on the inside along with a great sentiment from Merry Messages!

Christy‘s card incorporates the Color Inspiration brilliantly with adorable critters in a fabulous collage design! She used Toboggan Together, Beary Happy Holidays, Cheery Christmas, Winter Otter and Sealed with a Kiss!

Samantha‘s card is so happy! She colored the Frosty Fairy Friends images with Copic markers in all the colors of the challenge palette! The Really Rainbow Christmas papers create the perfect backdrop!

Jessica‘s gorgeous card uses the challenge colors sparingly in the windows of the Little Town Border in this lovely snowy landscape! The White Christmas paper from Really Rainbow Christmas looks amazing the glittery silver Stitched Snowflakes!

This wonderful greeting from Winter Big Scripty Words is the perfect sentiment for this beautiful card!

We will have Design Team inspiration for you over the next two weeks and of course our Featured Fawnatics and Random Winner for Challenge 39 tomorrow!
