We are happy to welcome Davina Cantrell as our amazing Guest Designer for this challenge! You know and love her as popsiclesticks on Instagram! Her brilliant cards are frequently inspired by movies, especially Disney and Harry Potter! Wait till you see what she has created for this challenge!

For her featured card, Davina created a tall 8.5″ x 3.5″ card! It really works for this amazing Peter Pan inspired card! She combined so many different sets then used them so creatively to tell this story!

For Peter, she used the boy from Bicycle Built for You and Tinkerbell is a tiny fairy from our Thanksgiving free gift set, A Little Sparkle! To create Skull Rock, Davina started with the speech bubble from Love Letters and added the ghostly eyes and nose with Copic markers. Then she layered the hills from Ahoy Matey in front to finish the pirate lair!

To create the scene, Davina also used Mermaid for You, Wild for You, Toadally Awesome, Ahoy Matey, Meadow Borders, Ocean Wave Borders and Stitched Wave Borders!

Now let’s check out the fantastic inspiration by our Design Team!

Can you guess Jessica‘s inspiration for this amazing Shadow Box Card? To make this scene from Ratatouille come to life she used a whole bunch of sets in totally clever ways! Be sure to click on her name to visit her blog for a full list of all the products she used and more photos of this fun 3D card!

Grace found all the characters for her delightful Winnie the Pooh scene in our sets, Critter Concert, Bicycle Built for You and Hay There! I think it’s so fun that she used Puffy Cloud Borders to make the treetops!

Christy created a lovely scene using Baked with Love to depict her favorite book, The School of Essential Ingredients by Erica Bauermeister!

Karin created a friendly version of the shark from Jaws! It’s hard to believe our cute Duh-nuh critter could be the ruthless shark depicted in the movie; he’s a kinder, gentler version!

Ahoy Matey was used by Franci to create this clean and simple design inspired by the Pirates of the Caribbean films! I love how she used a scoring board to add the embossed lines to add interest by framing her cute vignettes!

Samantha‘s beautiful birthday card takes inspiration from The Lion King! The Critters on the Savanna set has the regal lion while the custom sentiment is stamped with Harold’s ABCs! That background is all sorts of awesome!

Joyce‘s La La Land inspired card is totally charming! She used Village Border and the streetlamp from Here We Go A-Waddling to set the scene for the characters from Bicycle Built for You! The song title was added with the help of Violet’s ABCs.

Samantha C used our new RAWRSOME set with some help from Critters from the Past to bring her Land Before Time inspiration to life! How amazing is her prehistoric looking background?!

We will have Design Team inspiration for you over the next 2 weeks and of course we’ll share our Featured Fawnatics and random winner for Challenge 47 tomorrow!

A Whimsical Card by Jessica

Good morning! Jess here with a card for our current challenge! Today I decided to focus on the colors of the challenge to create a punny ocean-themed holiday card!

I have a good friend whose son has discovered the “baby shark” song recently so I thought this would be a fun Christmas card to send to them! 😉 And she’ll probably kill me for getting it stuck in her head again! (If you don’t know what I’m talking about DON’T look it up unless you want it in your head forever! Seriously.)

To start I blended stormy sky and faded jeans distress ink onto a piece of Strathmore Bristol cardstock. I also blended stormy sky and Forget-Me-Not ink onto a second piece of Strathmore Bristol cardstock. I die-cut that panel with the Ocean Hillside Pop-Up dies and adhered them over the other blended panel. Then I stamped, colored, and die-cut the shark fin from Duh-Nuh with warm grey Copics and tucked it behind the top wave. Next I die-cut the first part of my sentiment from Sticky Note cardstock using Finley’s ABCs and adhered them to my front panel.

On the inside of the card I started by die-cutting the Ocean Wave Accents on the bottom of the panel. Then I die-cut the rest of my sentiment with Moonstone cardstock and the same Finley’s ABCs and adhered them to the inside of the card. I stamped the shark from Duh-Nuh and colored him with warm grey Copic markers and die-cut him with the coordinating dies. Then I stamped and colored the Santa hat from Baaah Humbug with pinkish shades and die-cut it with the coordinating dies. Finally I adhered my shark and added the Santa hat at a jaunty angle! (It’s hard to decide where to put a Santa hat on a fish!

And that’s my punny take on the challenge colors! You have two more weeks to get crafty with our inspiration photo and I can’t wait to see what you create! Thanks so much for stopping by and have an amazing day!
Jess

The Wonderful Winter challenge is a 3 week challenge closing at 11:59PM ET on Sunday, January 6th. We can’t wait to see your creative take on our inspiration!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from your friends at Lawn Fawnatics!

This challenge will be open until Sunday July 15th at 11:59PM ET.

Now let’s see how our fabulous Design Team used the Color Inspiration!

Karin combined Happy Village, Village Shops and Winter Village to create this sweet scene using the bright color palette!

I love Samantha‘s whimsical scene starring a mermaid and Nessie (from Mermaid for You and Lovable Legends)! How clever that she used the Bayou Backdrop under the vellum “water”!

Peekaboo Backdrop and Village Shops are paired up on Joyce‘s adorable card! The cheerful color story was inspired by our challenge colors!

I love Franci‘s colorful Shadow Box Card! The way she place the One in a Chameleon cuties allows the box to be turned upside down and still be upright! So clever!

Jessica created a beautiful underwater scene for her Manatee-rific pair! Again Bayou Backdrop looks amazing as aquatic plants!

I love how Christy used the Perfectly Plaid Spring – Hydrangea paper as the base for her colorful Coaster Critters card! The happy plaid brings in the inspiration colors wonderfully!

I love Samantha‘s colorful layered Stitched Wave Borders! Her sunny watercolor card uses the inspiration colors and the wave image as well! She gave our Duh-nuh shark lots of cool detail!

Jenn used Manatee-rific and the die elements from Shadow Box Card Ocean Add-On to make a brilliant framed ocean scene!

The Chunky Glitter adds sparkly fun!

Nancy used the colors to inspire a Scalloped Treat Box island beach shack! The new Dog House Add-On was used to make the striped siding and the door and windows are from Spring House Add-On. The sun from Spring Showers was first die cut with Stitched Windy Backdrop to give it a fun swirly pattern! The trees, coconuts and little crab are in the Palm Trees die set!

We will have Design Team inspiration for you over the next two weeks and of course our Featured Fawnatics and Random Winner for Challenge 31 tomorrow!
