Jenn’s Ocean Shell-fie Inspiration

We can’t wait to see how this fun card sketch inspires you! The Card Sketch challenge will be open until Sunday, August 14th at 11:59PM ET.

Jenn joins us for a special Monday inspiration post! Her encouraging water themed card uses the Card Sketch in a fun way!

After creating an amazing watercolor background, Jenn arranged the Ocean Shell-fie critters in a diagonal pattern that follows the sketch. I love the ombré look of the Cole’s ABCs that Jenn created with Copic markers. She stamped the first part of the sentiment with Harold’s ABCs.

Jenn used Bubbles Stencil and Fairy Dust Stencil Paste to create the sparkly bubbles! She stenciled one row of bubbles, then allowed the paste to dry completely before stenciling more bubbles.

Thank you so much for this happy inspiration today, Jenn!

Jessica’s Purrfectly Wicked Inspiration

Our Photo Inspiration Challenge will be open until this Sunday, September 19 at 11:59PM ET. We can’t wait to see YOUR project inspired by the photo!

Good morning! Jess here with a card for our current inspiration photo challenge!  I decided to use the greener shades and the movement in the photo as inspiration for my Halloween card!

To start I used blending brushes to lightly apply Cracked Pistachio, Salvaged Patina, and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink randomly across a panel of Strathmore Bristol smooth cardstock.  Next, I placed the Bubbles Stencil over the panel and used a slightly heavier hand to blend the same colors over the stencil to create bubbles. I rotated and flipped the stencil around to get a variety in the direction and shape of the bubbles.

I splattered the panel with water and shimmer spray and then let it dry. Once it was dry, I die-cut it with the largest Stitched Rectangle die.  Then I placed the stencil over the panel again and applied a layer of white glitter glitz gel and let the panel dry completely.

While the panel was drying, I stamped the sentiment from Purrfectly Wicked onto Black Licorice cardstock and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder.  I also stamped a bunch of images from Purrfectly Wicked and colored them with Copic markers before die-cutting them with the coordinating dies.  I used a cool and toner grey Copic markers to get the variation in shades between the cats, cauldron, and hat!

Once the panel was dry, I trimmed my sentiment down into two thin labels and adhered it with foam mounting tape.  I also adhered the colored images to create my little Halloween scene.  I love how the bubble stenciling makes it look like their cauldron brew is really getting out of control!

And that’s it!  You one more weekend to get crafty and I can’t wait to see how the challenge photo inspires your creations! Thanks so much for stopping by and have an amazing weekend! -Jess
