Hey friends, it’s Christy here with another card for our Inspired By a Book, Movie, or Song Challenge! For this one, I was inspired by a sweet children’s picture book that I recently came across, called The Littlest Lighthouse Keeper by Heidi Howarth. I loved the illustrations in this story, so I decided to create my own version with this card.

I pulled together images from It’s a Bird, Life is Good, Smooth Sailing, Butterfly Kisses, Mermaid for You, and You Are Sublime. I stamped all of my images in Jet Black Ink, colored them with Copic markers and trimmed them out with the matching dies.

For my focal panel, I trimmed down a bunch of pieces of Bristol with the Stitched Wave Borders and Stitched Hillside Borders. I also used a full card-sized sheet for the background. I blended on Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide with the Cloudy Stencil to create the sky. Then I used a mix of Salvaged Patina, Salty Ocean, and Uncharted Mariner on my three waves. For the sand, I used Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs.

I stamped a sentiment from Life is Good on the bottom of the shortest wave and an image and sentiment on the inside of the card in Fish Tank Ink. Then I glued the sky and the tallest two waves to the card front with liquid glue. I popped the sand up with foam tape and glued the shortest wave over top of that. Then I added my images with a mix of foam tape and liquid glue.

If you’d like to see the whole process of creating this card, you can check out the video tutorial on my YouTube channel, Christy Gets Crafty. I really hope you enjoy it! We can’t wait to see what you come up with for our Inspired By a Book, Movie, or Song Challenge. Have an amazing day!

Thank you so much for sharing this super cute inspiration, Christy!

We can’t wait to see your Coffee, Tea & Treats creativity! Joyce created a fun Christmas treats design with Thanks a Latte, Smart Cookie and Giant Merry Christmas!

Joyce created a custom stamped background, stamping the cute images on Paper Bag cardstock with Doe Ink. Then she stamped and colored the hot cocoa, marshmallows, and candy cane from Thanks a Latte and cookies from Smart Cookie to layer on top.

How cute is the striped Giant Merry Christmas greeting cut from Candy Cane Lane petite paper!

Thank you for sharing your clever design with us today, Joyce!
