Little Flowers and Buttons with Caly

Hi Friends! This is Caly with you today, sharing a card made with buttons for the current Lawn Fawnatics Challenge! We’re bringing forgotten embellishments back and hope that you’ll play along!

Today’s card is made using the Little Flowers Lawn Cuts. These die-cuts create a potted arrangement of flowers and I’ve used little buttons to replace the floral centers. I decided to create a decorative window with a background accented by the Quilted Backdrop and framed by the Reverse Stitched Scallop Circle Windows. My top panel is attached over the quilted backdrop with foam adhesive so the window sits back a little.

I die-cut all of my elements using Lawn cardstock (Cilantro, Noble Fir, Ballet Slippers, Mermaid, Peacock, Apricot, Sugar Plum) and used coordinating inks to ink-blend and color the flowers to give them dimension.

After attaching all my flowers to the pot, I added foam adhesive to the back of the flowers and adhered it to my card so the flowers sit at the same height as the card panel. The pot is glued directly to the card top without additional height.

To give my die-cuts some interest, I added shimmer over the flowers and white gel highlights to the elements. The sentiment is from the Simply Sentiments stamp set and stamped over a Fancy Folded Banner. I did ink-blend a little around the edges to help the banner pop against the white background. Finally, to finish, I looped twine through another button and tied a bow to add one last embellishment to my card.

I hope you enjoyed this! Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Just Saying Hello

Hi Fawnatics friends! It’s Nancy here with a little inspiration “For the Birds“!

I made a clean and simple style card with a bit of a cartoon look! Other than the Simply Sentiments greeting stamped in Deep Sea ink it is all die cut! I framed my picture with a Stitched Scalloped Square Frame die cut from Woodgrain cardstock. For the background I brushed Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink on white cardstock. All of the pieces were die cut from white cardstock and colored with Copic markers with very little shading. The trees are from Shadow Box Card, the sun is from Foursquare Backdrop: Portrait and the cute little bird is from the Center Picture Window Card Add-On! Everything is adhered with Glue Tube and mounted on a simple white card base. Easy!

Our For the Birds challenge will be open until Sunday, February 2 at 11:59PM ET. I hope you will join the fun!
