Karin’s Gorgeous Watercolor Inspiration!

We hope you are having fun with the Inspired by a Book, Movie or Song challenge and we can’t wait to see your creativity! This is the last weekend for this challenge which will be open until this Sunday, April 3 at 11:59PM ET. We will be back on Monday, April 4th with another fun challenge theme!

But first, Karin has some gorgeous inspiration for you based on the children’s book, Will You Be My Friend!

With her amazing watercolor skills, Karin beautifully recreated the lovely cover illustration from the book. She used images from Eggstra Amazing Easter for the two sweet bunnies! To make images look like the storybook, she stamped them with Antique Linen Distress Ink before coloring them with watercolors. Then she sketched in the outline with a thin pen afterward.

For the book title, Karin used Cole’s ABCs cut from watercolor paper. She colored the letters and adhered them to the panel. Then she ran the card panel through her die-cutting machine to press the letters into the background leaving them just slightly raised. Such a clever idea!

Thank you so much Karin for sharing with us today! Your card is so amazing!

Karin’s Charming Birthday Card!

Karin created the sweetest birthday card! It’s the perfect way to send wishes for a fun day! This is the last weekend for our Birthday Challenge and now is the perfect time to create birthday cards! We hope you will be inspired!

Who wouldn’t smile when receiving a card this sweet? Karin made her card a square shape and used a Stitched Scalloped Square Frame to define it! For the little scene she framed it using Outside In Stitched Heart Stackables. Behind the heart cut out Karin added stenciled clouds and a grass border from Mushroom Border.

Karin used Copic markers to color the cute critters from Butterfly Kisses and Eggstra Amazing Easter and a pretty tree all decked with Spring color from the Tree Before ‘n Afters set! She included a birthday gift from Ho-Ho-Holidays!

Thanks so much, Karin! This card is so adorable!

The Birthday Challenge closes at 11:59PM ET on Sunday, April 5!
