For this challenge we have invited a very talented cardmaker to join us as our Guest Designer! Please welcome Kara Pogreba to the Lawn Fawnatics blog! She has been inspiring us for quite a while now and we are so impressed with her amazing designs! You can find her on Instagram as @karalynne88 and at her blog, Bright Hope Creations!

Kara‘s sky is seriously spectacular! She created a pull-tab card using the airplane and banner from Simply Celebrate Spring! Those puffy clouds look a lot like some Lawn Fawn critters! Kara stamped the images in light blue ink and did some incredible no-line coloring!

The Let’s Toast Pull-Tab Add-On allows the cute little plane to cross the sky with a fun sentiment from Elphie Selfie! See if you can spot which sets these cloud critters are from and leave us a comment below!

Now let’s check out the inspiration from our amazing Design Team!

Jessica‘s amazing night sky is so perfect for her tall slimline card design! She added an Upon a Star fox and sentiment and a pretty Forest Border silhouette!

Christy created a whimsical little scene with Butterfly Kisses! What is more spectacular that a sky filled with butterflies!

Franci‘s fabulous space themed sky is filled with Out of this World planets and a cute little astronaut! I love this view through the spaceship window!

Who says the sky has to be blue! Joyce‘s sky is filled with happy color and happy birds! The little bunny from Coaster Critters looks adorable flying the plane from Plane and Simple!

Grace took the Butterfly Kisses critters out of the meadow and placed them among the clouds in this Center Picture Window Card design!

These amazing clouds and beautiful rainbow are perfect in Samantha‘s sunny yellow sky! The adorable little Winter Unicorn (without her winter scarf) looks right at home in the dreamy backdrop!

The Winter Skies bear couple are enjoying the dramatic sky on Karin‘s beautiful Reveal Wheel card! I love the splatters of gold in the sky!

Samantha‘s sky is filled with raindrops from the Rainy Backdrop but the cute little Butterfly Kisses bunny sees the rainbow! She used an umbrella from Hello Baby and the little rainbow from Rain or Shine Before ‘n Afters!

Leave it to our beach-loving friend Jenn to create a card filled with a gorgeous sunny sky! She combined lots of new Summer 2019 products including Sunray Backdrop, Hammock and Trees, On the Beach and Hello Border!

Jessica’s Dreamy Unicorn Card!

Good morning! Jess here with a card for our current Pet Love challenge! I decided to think back to my childhood and my dream pet…so here’s what I created! 😉

To start I did a little ink smooshing to create my pastel sky. I smooshed tumbled glass, shaded lilac, and salty ocean Distress Oxide inks onto a piece of acetate, spritzed them with water and then pressed the acetate to a piece of watercolor paper. I held the acetate in place for a few seconds and then lifted it off carefully. I let the ink dry and then spritzed it with iridescent spray for a little extra sparkle. Then I die-cut the Puffy Cloud Border from white cardstock and vellum. I adhered them to the watercolor panel with ATG and vellum adhesive.

Next I stamped the adorable unicorn from Critters Ever After onto white cardstock and colored her with Copic markers before die-cutting her with the coordinating die. I also stamped the sentiment onto black cardstock and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder before trimming it down to a thin label. I tucked my unicorn into between the clouds and adhered the sentiment with foam mounting tape. Then I took a cheap paintbrush and brushed a little liquid glue over some of the cloud tops and sprinkled them with Chunky and Prisma Glitter. I tapped off the excess and let it dry. Finally I added a trio of iridescent sequins to finish the card!

And that’s it! You have one more weekend to get crafty and I can’t wait to see how pets inspire you! Thanks so much for stopping by and have an amazing day!
Jess

The Pet Love challenge ends this Sunday, May 19th at 11:59PM ET. We hope you will join us! Happy Crafting!

More Fabulous Inspiration by our Guest Designer, Davina!

Hello Fawnatics Friends! We are one week into our Inspired by a Book, Movie or Song challenge and you guys are seriously impressing us with your creativity! There is still a full week to enter the challenge which is open until Sunday, March 17 at 11:59PM ET.

Our amazing Guest Designer, Davina joins us again today to share 2 more fabulous cards to inspire your crafting! She will tell you about her process for making these clever card designs!

“I love creating scenes from movies and books. And when I’m going through my stamp sets I’m always thinking about what else can be created with the images. I was inspired by one on my favorite childhood movies Bambi. I knew that I had images for all the main characters.

My favorite part of the movie is the “Twitterpated” spring. And I tried to recreate that meadow scene. After die cutting my panels I ink-blended the background and splattered white opaque ink on the golden sky. I stamped out all my images and colored them with Copic markers and white gel pen highlights. I wanted my cute Flower the skunk to be behind the flowers like he was in the movie, so I popped the flowers and grass up on foam tape and placed him behind.

Thumper sits atop the log from the Toadally Awesome set, Bambi is standing in front. I didn’t forget Owl who is perched on a branch whistling away. It was such a joy to create this iconic scene and I hope that you play along with the current challenge to create your own scenes.”

“I am such a lover of everything Harry Potter that I couldn’t resist making a something inspired by the Wizarding World. Honeydukes Sweet Shop is by far one of my favorite magical places.”

“After already creating two projects I wanted to try something a little different. I wanted to make a scene that would appear like I was living in the Wizarding World.  And what would the table look like upon emptying my pockets after a day in Hogsmeade Village. I’d have Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans, and Chocolate Frogs. There would be Droobles best blowing gum and Fizzing Wizzbees. I would have brought home a Pumpkin Pasty for later and some sweet Jelly Slugs (formerly a cute snail from Gleeful Gardens who lost him shell).”

Thank you so much, Davina! Your card art is amazing and we are so happy that you joined us for this challenge!
