Lawn Fawnatics Challenge 101 – Travel Destination/Favorite Place

We have a new challenge for you that we think you will love! For this 3 week challenge, create a project that shows a travel destination or favorite place! It can be a place you hope to travel to, a special vacation, a local place you love to visit or even your “happy place”!

We invite you to share your creativity by linking up your crafty projects at the end of this post! Your project should feature Lawn Fawn stamps, dies and papers. This challenge will run for 3 weeks and be open until Sunday, June 6th at 11:59PM ET.

For each challenge, we will randomly select an entry to receive a $25.00 gift certificate to the Lawn Fawn shop! We will also be highlighting a few of your fabulous projects at the close of each challenge! By linking your projects to our challenges you will give permission for us to post your work to this blog and our social media sites. Check out the How to Play page for a few guidelines to play along. We want this to be FUN so we’ll keep the rules to just a few!

First up today, we have a Guest Designer whose projects constantly wow us! Please say hello to Denise Strilchuk! You may know her as Dee Strilly on Instagram! For her challenge inspiration, she thought of a favorite place to be!

Dee pictured herself under a cherry tree, reading a good book with a cold beverage! This totally looks like a perfect “happy place”! She made the cherry tree with Leafy Tree Backdrop: Portrait and tiny flowers from Spring Sprig! She stenciled the pretty clouds with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink.

She combined images from Screen Time, Den Sweet Den, Crazy Antics and Year Two to create the scene. The perfect sentiment for this design is from On the Beach! Reading a book under a tree on beautiful day sounds very relaxing to me!

Now let’s see how our amazing Design Team was inspired by the new theme!

For this beautiful tropical destination scene, Franci used patterned papers to cut out the images from Palm Trees, including the cute little crab! She popped up this mini scene with foam tape then finished the card by stamping the sentiment from Mermaid for You in Kiddie Pool ink.

Karin is dreaming of a trip to Aruba! She depicted this Caribbean paradise with Tropical Backdrop and Flamingo Together! She spelled out the location with Oliver’s Stitched ABCs, then added a border of pineapples from Simply Celebrate Summer!

Caly‘s slimline design is perfect to show that “life is a picnic” in this happy park scene! She used images from Bicycle Built for You, Crazy Antics, Screen Time and Happy Village! The tall tree is found in Let’s Play!

Samantha‘s favorite place is the beach so she created this gorgeous “beach at night” scene! She combined Stitched Wave Borders and Stitched Hillside Borders to make the sand and waves layers. She created a beautiful star-filled sky with the Starry Sky stencil and embossing paste. She filled the scene with images from Upon a Star, Life is Good and All the Clouds (moon). For the sentiment, she combined Upon a Star and Super Star!

Joyce was inspired by the Arctic to create this fun tall slimline card! She added pops of color to this snowy scene using Smooth Sailing (lighthouse and sailboat). The arctic critters are from Sealed with a Kiss, Mermaid for You and Beary Happy Holidays. The Stitched Wave Borders provide a place to tuck some of the critters into the waves!

Camping under the stars is Samantha‘s favorite place! She combined some fun sets to create a happy campsite scene! The Den Sweet Den bears are enjoying the campfire from Love you S’more; one is napping on the Toadally Awesome log. Samantha used a sailboat from Smooth Sailing as a stand-in for a tent, that is so clever! She used the Starry Skies die to scatter glittery stars in the sky!

Christy‘s fabulous beach destination features a brand new set, Scootin’ By! To build the scene, she started with Sunburst Backdrop, then she layered Stitched Simple Wavy Borders for the waves and sand. She added trees from Life is Good and a sentiment from On the Beach stamped on the bright orange sun!

Jessica‘s awesome beach house is a destination I’m sure many of us are dreaming of visiting! She used the Scalloped Treat Box Beach House Add-On that comes complete with seagull! She built the scene with Stitched Wave Borders and Simple Stitched Hillside Borders. The tall grass in the background is our Cattail Borders with the tops trimmed! The birthday sentiment is found the Seahorsin’ Around mini set!

We will share Design Team inspiration for you over the next 3 weeks and we’ll announce our Featured Fawnatics and random winner for Challenge 100 – Cards for Kids tomorrow!

Franci’s Really High Five Birthday Card

There are just 5 days left for the Cards for Kids challenge! We are loving all of the entries, you are all so talented! This challenge will be open until Sunday, May 16th at 11:59PM ET.

Franci joins us today with some super fun Cards for Kids inspiration! She created a “bouncy” Really High Five birthday card!

From the tiny trampolines to the cute critters, Franci’s card is a perfect way to send your favorite kid birthday wishes! I love the soft pastel colors, Perfectly Plaid Remix border and of course, the adorable Really High Five images!

The simple design is Franci’s signature style! She added just a little bit of ink blending for a soft glow with a bunch of perfectly placed gel pen polka dots! Just perfect!
