Caly’s Magical Scalloped Box Card Pop-Up

Hi Friends! It’s Caly with you today, sharing a 3D card for current Lawn Fawnatics Challenge!  This challenge runs through September 5th, 2021 11:59pm PT.  You have lots of time to join in the fun and we hope to see you participate!  Lawn Fawn has lots of dies that create 3D cards.

For my 3D project today, I’m using the Scalloped Box Card Pop-Up die to create a modified box card.  By modified, I mean I cut off 3 of the flaps to create a more simple version.  There is less to decorate, but your scene can still be impactful!

I stamped images using Unicorn Picnic and Fairy Friends and colored them with these Copic markers.
Reds (door):  R32, R35, R37
Yellows (hair):  Y11, Y32, Y38
Greens (foliage): YG11, YG06, YG09
Teals (house and fairy dress):  BG10, BG11, BG24
Blues (wings and clouds):  B0000, B00
Purples (flowers): V000, V01, V04
Pinks (house and fairy dress):  RV10, RV13, RV17
Grays (unicorns):  W00, W01, W3, W6
Browns (hair):  E30, E31, E34, E37
Skin:  R20, E000, E51, E11

Next, I die-cut my Scalloped Box Card Pop-Up base in white cardstock.  For the decorative panels, I used the Watercolor Wishes Petite Paper Pack in green for bottom of the box and blue for the top portion of the box.  For the box inserts, I used cloud dies from the Shadow Box Card Rainbow Add-On.  These dies coordinate and work well together (a Shadow Box die would work great for this challenge too!)

I adhered all my decorative panels and inserts to the box to put it together before creating my scene.  The bottom of the box is a mini scene of the fairies and the top of the box is a sky scene with unicorns.  I call this a two-fer…hehe.  I hope you like it!

The best part is always that it folds flat and fits inside an A2-sized envelope!  So much fun to mail to a friend or relative.  I hope this project inspires you to create and join us for the Lawn Fawnatics 3D Card Challenge.  Again, this challenge ends on September 5th, 2021 at 11:59pm PT.  Thanks so much for visiting today! ~Caly

Spectacular Skies with Just Dies!

Hi, it’s Nancy hoping to inspire you today! I have always wanted to make a card with just dies. I have come close, but I always wind up stamping the sentiment. So for our Spectacular Skies challenge I made a fun Foursquare Backrop: Portrait design with cute little sky vignettes!

I die cut almost all the pieces from Bristol Smooth cardstock and used Copic markers to add color. Just the palm tree trunk (from Tropical Backdrop) is die cut from Woodgrain cardstock and the cloud from white cardstock. The cloud, moon and sun are included in the Foursquare Backdrop: Portrait die set. The little rainbow is from Shadow Box Card Rainbow Add-on and the raindrops are the Rainy Backdrop!

I used a Clear Star Gelly Roll pen to add the “stars” to the moon vignette and I used silver glitter cardstock behind the raindrops. And I used Sending Hugs Line Border for the win as the die cut sentiment! Yay!

Our Spectacular Skies challenge will be open until Sunday May 3 at 11:59PM ET. The gallery is filling with the most wonderful creativity. We can’t wait to see what you will share!

Check out the How to Play page for a few guidelines to play along. We want this to be FUN so we’ll keep the rules to just a few!

Now let’s see how our amazing Design Team was inspired by the card sketch!

Caly featured Say What? Spring Critters in her pretty close version of the Sketch! She used Outside In Stitched Circles and a sentiment from Simply Sentiments! How cute is the Hello Sunshine Remix paper peeking through the circle windows!

Franci chose to follow the sketch more loosely! She used the placement of the images from Butterfly Kisses as her interpretation of the sketch! For the sentiment she used a fun one from Ready Set Shake!

For her Sketch design, Joyce created cute little Oh Gnome! scenes in the windows of the Foursquare Backdrop: Portrait!

Karin switched up the the sketch a bit by using Heart Shaker Gift Tag to create the grid design! The cute Chirpy Chirp Chirp chicks are perfect on this Easter design!

For her adorable Easter card, Samantha used Scalloped Circle Stackables to follow the sketch! The cute bunnies and baskets are from Easter Before ‘n Afters!

Jessica‘s beautiful sketch design combines dies from Shadow Box Card Rainbow Add-On and Spring Showers to remind us to look for rainbows! The sentiment is from Rain or Shine Before ‘n Afters. She used the stitched circle from the Magic Iris to assemble the little weather vignettes but you could use any stitched circle die set!

Christy‘s card is so bright and happy! She used A Bug Deal to fill the windows of the Foursquare Backdrop: Portrait! For the sentiment she combined a phrase from A Bug Deal with Finley’s ABCs!

Samantha went for a more abstract look for the sketch design! She used the Outside In Stitched Cloud Stackables and the little speech bubble in place of the circles! Her adorable card also features Super Star as well as mice from You’re Just My Type and Love Poems!

Jenn‘s card is a festive design in honor of Mister Harley’s birthday! Her card features all three of her cats with images from Meow You Doin’! She also used images from some of our birthday mini sets: confetti from Year Nine, balloon from Year Four and the sentiment from Year Two!

We will share Design Team inspiration for you over the next 2 weeks and we’ll announce our Featured Fawnatics and random winner for Challenge 73 tomorrow!
