Let’s see how our awesome Design Team was inspired by this challenge theme!

Joyce used images from our Village Heroes set to create a beautiful thank you card! She added the tree and a pair of apples from Tree Before ‘n Afters!

For her card, Samantha designed the perfect study space! She used the desk, typewriter and lamp from You’re Just My Type and added the bird and book from Science of Love! I love how she added a “window” with a view to the tree outside! The Outside In Stitched Apple is a great backdrop for this fun scene!

Village Heroes is the star of Jessica‘s bright and cheerful card! The bold colors are so striking and the basket of apples from Thanks a Bushel are the perfect addition!

Often overlooked but an important part of education is the fearless driving teacher! Christy‘s fun design is the perfect way to thank the teacher who makes sure drivers know the rules of the road! She combined Car Critters with Village Heroes and Road Border.

Franci‘s fun back-to-school design features Science of Love and a couple of birds with chemistry!

I’m sure a teacher would love to receive this card with its sweet message! Caly‘s card starts with Really Rainbow paper peeking through the Outside In Stitched Circle window. The cute mice from You’re Just My Type and Love Poems are perfect to start the day with a smile!

How amazing is Samantha‘s school-themed scrapbook layout?! She created a cool design using Quinn’s ABCs stamped with Manatee ink. Then she added the title with Cole’s ABCs. Finally she added some color with Really Rainbow paper and some fun with the paper airplanes from Plane and Simple!

Karin‘s Shadow Box Card is a great way to send a sweet thank you to a special teacher! The little scene features Village Heroes, Forest Border and Road Border. The cute owl from Jump for Joy is a fun addition!

Jenn‘s fun and colorful card spells out an encouraging message perfectly! She inked the background using the Cloudy Stencil and Grassy Stencil. Then she added the Stitched Rainbow cut from bright colors of cardstock and some cute images from Village Heroes! Louie’s ABCs are the perfect size to send this positive message!

We will share Design Team inspiration for you over the next 2 weeks and we’ll announce our Featured Fawnatics and random winner for Challenge 83 tomorrow!

Caly’s Happy Harvest Slimline Card

Hi Friends! This is Caly and I’m happy to be here today to share a fall card! Are you ready for fall? I feel like we were just wishing for summer when COVID-19 began and we’ve been cooped up inside hiding from the heat. We’re continuing the Make the Sentiment the Star Challenge and I hope you’re enjoying the inspiration and that you’ll play along!

For today’s card, I used images from the Happy Harvest and the Pick of the Patch sets. The Happy Harvest set is one of the first sets I’ve ever owned and I think that scarecrow has my heart. I came across the squirrels in the Pick of the Patch set and just had to use them for my scene today.

I stamped and colored my images using Copic markers. After die-cutting them all with the coordinating dies, I set them aside to work on my background.

Copic colors used:
Pumpkins: Y15, Y17, Y38, YR07
Face: E51, E55, E93
Birds: C4, C6, C8, Y15, Y17, Y38
Reds: R22, R24, R27, R89
Blues: B93, B95, B97, B99
Greens: [G40, G43, G46], [G03, G09]
Squirrels: E30, E33, E35
Sunflowers: Y11, Y15, E31
Stake: E50, E34, E37

My background is ink-blended with Distress Oxide Inks using Lucky Clover, Twisted Citron, and Mustard Seed. To give the panel some texture, I first sprayed it with water and then splattered it with some watered down Lucky Clover and white paint. When dry, I used the Large Slimline with Sliders die to die-cut the stitched border.

I die-cut my sentiment word and letters using Black Licorice cardstock from the Scripty Happy die and Cole’s ABCs die set. I centered and adhered these down first, then framed my sentiment in with the images I colored.

I hope you enjoyed this card! This challenge runs for 3 weeks! If you decide to play along, be sure to link your projects by Sunday September 6th at 11:59 pm PST! Click HERE to join the challenge!

Thanks for stopping by today! Caly

Now let’s see where our designers found their inspiration!

Karin was inspired by the cute bear in the new set, Really High Five to create this adorable nod to Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day! She also used Cloudy Stencils and A Bug Deal!

Mermaid for You, Ahoy Matey, Fintastic Friends and Critter Concert helped Samantha recreate a favorite scene from The Little Mermaid!

Joyce‘s adorable card depicts a scene from Kelly Marie’s favorite movie musical, Singing in the Rain! She used the boy from Bicycle Built for You, the street lamp from Here We Go A-Waddling, an umbrella from Plus One and the puddle is the lake from Dad + Me! So much creativity!

Christy was inspired by the classic story of The Ugly Duckling to use our new Swan Soirée set! She combined the swans with the little duck family from Rub-A-Dub-Dub! She also used elements from Toadally Awesome to help set the scene!

Samantha was inspired by the movie Up to create this happy scene! I love how used the Gnome Sweet Gnome flamingo as a stand in for Kevin! She used a house from Spooky Village and the coordinating dies from Really High Five to die cut all the colorful balloons!

Caly used Cole’s ABCs letters to title this adorable Little Mermaid inspired scene! She used Stitched Hillside Borders to create the underwater look! For characters she assembled the usual suspects from Mermaid for You, Christmas Fishes, Fintastic Friends and Life is Good!

Jessica was inspired by a book by E.B. White The Trumpet of the Swan! Our new Swan Soirée provided the lead character along with Mermaid for You! She set the stage using the new Cattails Border and the trumpet and music notes from Critter Concert! The great sentiment is from Beam Me Up!

Jenn was inspired by an awesome card by Grace to create her version of Winnie the Pooh! She was the lucky recipient of Grace’s adorable card!

Jenn found images from a bunch of sets to repurpose for her sweet scene! Pooh bear is played by the On the Beach bear, Christopher Robin is the boy from Screen Time and Eeyore and Piglet are from Hay There! Owl is from So Owlsome and he’s using the butterfly net from Butterfly Kisses!

Little details were provided by Milk and Cookies (large hunny pot) and Love Letters (small hunny pots)!

We will share Design Team inspiration for you over the next 2 weeks and we’ll announce our Featured Fawnatics and random winner for Challenge 71 tomorrow!
