Design Team Inspiration

Mimi got really creative and made an amazing desk organizer with our Platform Pop-Up die set! She made room for holding pens and post-it note pad. She cut three Platform Pop-Up main pieces, putting 2 together to make the base. Then she put the third one together to add to the top. She cut slots in the top one to hold the sticky notes and pens.

There is even a hidden drawer to hold a roll of washi tape! Oh, my goodness, this is so much fun! She used images from Virtual Friends, Virtual Friends Add-On, Love Poems and Just Add Glitter. I love how she decorated the organizer with Really Rainbow paper and Vertical Rainbow Stripes Washi tape.

Christy created an awesome layered Berry Special scene using Scalloped Box Card Pop-Up! The Fruit Salad gingham paper lends a sweet homespun look to her fun design!

Samantha‘s birthday gift bag and matching card are absolutely adorable! She used the fun Yappy Birthday, Yappy Birthday Add-On and Pawsome Birthday set with an amazing color palette! She created the card with Flippin’ Awesome and the Flippin’ Awesome Add-On. The gift bag is made with the Goodie Bag die.

Even the card has a surprise pop-up inside courtesy of the Everyday Pop-Ups die set!

Franci‘s adorable Shadow Box Card is a sneak peek at Hay There, Hayrides stamp set! It’s part of our new Fall & Winter 2023 Release that will be available on August 24! Check out all the inspiration at the Lawn Fawn blog and be sure to enter all the Inspiration and Release Week daily giveaways (Aug 16 – 25)!

Who wouldn’t love to receive a gift in this cute gift bag! Joyce decorated her Goodie Bag images from Ocean Shell-fie, Mermaid for You and I Like You (a lotl).

Joyce brought the cute underwater scene to the back of the Goodie Bag as well!

Samantha decorated her Shadow Box Card with cute images from Just Plane Awesome! She added clouds with the Rainbow Add-On and Snowy Backdrop for the background.

I love how Samantha carried the cute images all across the outside of the shadow box!

Karin used our fun Milk Carton to make a gift package! She inked it up, then lined the bottom edge with Heart Garden Border all around. Then she added a heart shaped Tiny Tag with a Tiny Tag Sayings greeting!

Catherine‘s Shadow Box Card is on trend with a modified Car Critters car and Bicycle Built for You characters! She cleverly created the roller skates using the sock from Loads of Fun and Bubbles of Joy bubbles for the wheels. The laces and toe stopper are hand drawn.

Jenn‘s Woodland Critter Hugger is all decked out for a beach adventure! She used Woodland Critter Huggers Summer Add-On to add all the accessories like a paper doll.

The tote is filled with sunglasses and camera! When the “arms” are opened you see that Jenn decorated both sides of the cute drink glass and tote!

It’s the last weekend for the Into the Woods challenge and Mimi has a super fun idea to inspire you! Her interactive whitewater rafting scene is filled with fun and adventure!

Mimi used the Reveal Wheel to add the fun interactive element to her card! She built her scene with stenciled clouds, Stitched Mountain Borders, Forest Border and Stitched Wave Borders. She used animals from Scootin’ By and You Autumn Know. The helmets are from Scootin’ By, the “paddles” are spoons from Baked with Love and the rocks in the river are from Mermaid for You, Ocean Shell-fie and Christmas Fishes. The raft is made using an altered Flamingo Floatie.

Here are Mimi’s step by step instructions:

I die cut 2 large stitched rectangle panels (top/bottom) and die cut a notch on top of each for the reveal wheel.

I masked all the edges of my top panel. I ink blended with distress oxide inks. The clouds were blended with Wild Honey at the top 1/3 of the panel. The rest, I ink blended with Salty Ocean.

I die cut the stitched mountain border, ink blended with Hickory Smoke and the forest border with Mowed Lawn and Rustic Wilderness.

Using a 5 3/8” x 3” piece of vellum, I die cut 4 stitched wave borders, carefully not cutting pass the ends, leaving about 1/4” in tact. I used white paint and brushed streaks to create water waves.

I stamped, colored and die cut all my images. The raft was made from the Flamingo Floatie, trimming off the head/neck and tail.

I placed the vellum on top of my top panel and die cut the arc-shape window (from the Reveal Wheel die set). I put the vellum piece aside and assembled the the reveal wheel mechanism along with the bottom panel. I also die cut 3 circles from the Flamingo Floatie die, glued them together and placed it on my wheel through the exposed arc-window.

I assembled the card by adhering the vellum piece first, then the mountains and the forest border. I glued the critters in the raft and attached it to the circle die on the reveal wheel. I then glued the paddles and the water drops/splatters to the raft. I randomly placed the rocks in between the wave borders. I used a few foam squares to ‘lift’ the bottom wave border up so the raft can move back and forth smoothly. Lastly, I also added some final touches of water waves on the rock with the white paint.

I stamped the ‘turn’ and the sentiment in Jet Black ink to finish the card, adding some sparkle glaze to the water drops/splatter for some interest.

Turn the wheel and watch the critters raft through some whitewater rapids on the river!

Thank you so much for this amazing inspiration, Mimi! Such a great way to close out the Into the Woods samples!
