A Colorful Remake with Jenn!

Hi Fawnatics Friends! Jenn joins us today to share some super colorful inspiration for our CASE Yourself challenge! She remade an older card that had a gorgeous inky background and a simple framed greeting! I know you will love her amazing update!

To create that amazing background, Jenn started with a panel of Yupo paper and added Alcohol Pearl inks in stunning rainbow colors! Wow!

This eye-catching background needed only a simple greeting and a bit of embellishment! Jenn white embossed Wavy Sayings on Black Licorice Fancy Wavy Banners, then added the tiny butterflies (found in the Shadow Box Card Spring Add-On) in black as well!

Thanks so much for sharing this gorgeous inspiration today, Jenn!
Be sure to check out Jenn’s class schedule! She will be traveling to many towns in the US and Canada to teach classes with Lawn Fawn! Click HERE to find out where she will be!

We hope you will join us for the CASE Yourself challenge! It will be open until this Sunday, March 31 at 11:59PM ET.
Happy Crafting from your friends at Lawn Fawnatics!

Samantha Remakes Her Dramatic Night Sky Card!

Our CASE Yourself challenge continues through Sunday March 31! We are so impressed with the entries in the gallery so far, wow! Our Design Team inspiration today comes from Samantha M, who remade her awesome night sky that she made for her blog collaboration back in October. For the original card, which you can see HERE,she used Happy Haunting and Monster Mash! The updated version features Out of This World and a surprise on the inside!

The background for each card starts with black gesso painted randomly on the card base! Then some bright white stenciled stars fill the night sky! In the original Samantha filled the scene with a rainbow of colorful Monster Mash critters and the Happy Haunting house!

For the new version, she again used bright and happy rainbow colors on the Out of This World planets and sun! She started her greeting on the front of the card…

and finished it on the inside with a fun pop-up element courtesy of the Mini Pop-Up Box and some more colorful planets! I love how she continued the dramatic black sky and stars on the inside!

Thank you so much, Samantha, for inspiring us today!

Now it’s your turn to get creative and be inspired by one of your previous cards or crafty projects! Our CASE Yourself challenge will be open until Sunday March 31 at 11:59PM ET. We can’t wait to see how you will be inspired!

Jessica’s Hap-pea New Spin on an Older Card Design!

Good morning! Jess here with a card for our current CASE Yourself challenge! I’ll be honest and admit that I don’t often look back at my own cards for inspiration so it was a little bit of a challenge for me. But it was fun to try and put a new spin on an older card! Here’s my original card that was created for a challenge last summer!

I decided to play around with acrylic block stamping and a little bit of my previous Mermaid for You layout for today’s card!

To start I smooshed Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, Pine Needles and Lucky Clover Distress inks onto an acrylic block. I spritzed it with water a few times and then pressed it to a piece of watercolor paper. I held it in place for about 30 seconds to give the ink time to soak into the paper. Then I lifted the block and let the ink dry. Once it was totally dry I splattered it with water to lighten areas of the background.

While the background was drying I stamped the pea pods and peas from Be Hap-Pea with Versafine and heat-embossed them with clear embossing powder. I colored them with Copic markers and then die-cut them with the coordinating dies before adding a few accents with a white gel pen. I also stamped the sentiment onto black cardstock with Versamark and heat-embossed them with clear embossing powder. I arranged the peas, pods, and sentiments with a mixture of regular adhesive and foam mounting tape. And I used mini Action Wobblers (that I trimmed down) for two of the peas as I did the mermaid in my previous card. Finally I added a few gems in various shades of green to finish the card!

And that’s it! You have one more week to get crafty and I can’t wait to see how your previous creations inspire you! Thanks so much for stopping by and have an amazing week!
Jess
