Christy’s Cute New Baby Card

Hey everyone, it’s Christy here with a sweet baby shower card for our What’s the Weather Challenge. One of my co-workers is about to become a first-time grandma, and she loves elephants for baby girls, so I combined a couple of sets to create her a congratulations card with that theme.

I started by stamping out the mama elephant from Wild for You, the baby elephant from Elphie Selfie, and the umbrella and rattle from Hello Baby. I colored them in Copic markers using a soft color palette of warm gray, pink, and mint. Then I trimmed them out with the matching dies.

For the background, I die cut a Stitched Circle Stackable and sponged on some distress ink using a stencil to create some pale gray clouds and a little patch of grass. I added a sentiment and a few raindrops from Hello Baby as well. I layered this onto a Fancy Scalloped Circle Stackable to give it that delicate eyelet-looking edge.

I layered some patterned papers over my card base, die cutting the largest with a Stitched Rectangle Stackable, and used the Stitched Party Banner to selectively die cut a flag end on my banner. I popped the focal panel up with foam tape for a little dimension and added some white gel pen polka dots to the rattle and umbrella as a finishing touch.

If you’d like to see how this card came together, check out the video tutorial on my YouTube channel, Christy Gets Crafty. There’s still plenty of time to enter our What’s the Weather Challenge! I can’t wait to see what you create!

Our What’s the Weather challenge will be open until Sunday, March 3 at 11:59PM ET. We hope you will join us!
Have an awesome weekend, Fawnatics friends!
Happy Crafting!
