A Spooky Card with Samantha!

We hope you will join us over at the Lawn Fawn blog for the start of October Inspiration Week! Today is the Big Giveaway Post, with up to 6 chances to enter to win! Click HERE!

Happy Friday! Samantha here with a spooky card that is inspired by current Inspiration Board challenge. I LOVED the inspiration board so much, because the colors and the Halloween image are so much fun.

I used Bayou Backdrop to create a Halloween scene that takes place in a haunted bayou. Ghosts from Happy Haunting are peaking out behind the glittery vines and frogs from Toadally Awesome are floating on the lily pads. I turned the frogs into witches by accessorizing them with hats from Hats Off to You and Holiday Party Animal. They needed a cauldron for their spooky swamp potions, so I used the fish bowl from the Keep On Swimming stamp set. Some of the  bubbles from the Rub-A-Dub-Dub stamp set fit perfectly in my cauldron!

You still have plenty of time to enter this amazing Inspiration Board challenge. The colors are so much fun to work with and Halloween is such a fun holiday to create projects for. The challenge is open until Sunday October 20 at 11:59PM ET, and we really look forward to seeing what you create! I hope you have a wonderful day!

Jessica’s Great Pumpkin Card!

Good morning! Jess here with a card for our current Awesome Autumn challenge! Autumn is my favorite time of year and it’s just not the season without my annual viewing of It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown so I used that as inspiration for my card today!

To start I blended Blueprint Sketch, Chipped Sapphire, and Black Soot distress oxide ink onto a panel of white cardstock to create a night sky. Then I die-cut the Stitched Hillside Backdrop: Landscape from Black Licorice Cardstock and layered it over the blended background. I die-cut a large circle from the Circle Stackables and blended a little Scattered Straw and Mustard Seed distress oxide ink to create a glowing moon. Next I die-cut the Bayou Backdrop twice and the leaves from Leafy Tree Backdrop: Portrait from Noble Fir cardstock and blended a little Black Soot distress oxide ink onto some of the greenery. I set those aside to dry while I worked on the rest of the card.

Next I stamped my Pick of the Patch pumpkins three times with Versafine and heat-embossed them with clear embossing powder. I colored them with Copic markers, die-cut them with the coordinating dies, and then went over the edges of the die-cut images with a black Copic marker so they would blend better with the background. I also stamped my sentiment with Milo’s ABCs onto white cardstock, trimmed it down to create a sign and added a little Copic shading.

Then I tucked my moon behind the Stitched Hillside, and added my pumpkins and “vines.” I added a few accents with a white gel pen and stars in the sky with a white paint pen. I tucked in my sign and then finished the card with a few blasts of silver glitter dust for even more sparkle!!

And that’s it! You have two more weeks to get crafty and I can’t wait to see your Awesome Autumn creations! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a fantastic weekend!

A Get Well Before ‘n Afters Card with Jessica!

Good morning! Jess here with a card for our current Interactive challenge! I just love interactive cards and couldn’t wait to create this underwater scene with the Magic Picture Changer dies!

To start I stamped the cute sick and healthy whales from Get Well Before ‘n Afters onto Strathmore Bristol cardstock and colored them with Copic markers. Then I masked them with a Post-it note and blended Tumbled Glass, Mermaid Lagoon and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink onto both backgrounds. Then I die-cut the scenes with the Magic Picture Changer dies and created my Magic Picture Changer scene. I also used the Magic Picture Changer Add-on set to add a black pull tab.

Next I stamped a bunch of images from Fintastic Friends and Mermaid for You and colored them with Copics before die-cutting them with the coordinating dies. I also colored around the die-cuts so they’d match my background.

Then I blended the same three Distress Oxide ink colors onto an A2 panel. I also blended Cracked Pistachio, Evergreen Bough, and Pine Needles Distress Oxide ink onto a second A2 panel and die-cut it with the Bayou Backdrop. I die-cut a banner with the Simply Wavy Banners and then stamped the sentiment from Wavy Sayings.

I adhered the Bayou Backdrop onto my blended background and adhered that to a card base. Then I added my Magic Picture Changer scene onto the background panel with foam mounting tape. I added all the extra fish and mermaid around my scene and adhered the banner on top. Finally I added a few accents with a white gel pen and some sparkly bubbles with glitter drops to finish the card!

And that’s it! You have one more weekend to get crafty with our Interactive Challenge and I can’t wait to see what you’ll create! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a fantastic weekend!
