Hi Friends! It’s Caly with you today and we are having Fun with Food for the current Lawn Fawnatics Challenge!  I was checking to see the last time I used the Be Hap-pea set and it was a year ago for this exact challenge!

My kids don’t love peas.  If I had my way, I’d eat a different vegetable every day!  Why is eating healthy so difficult with kids?  Speaking of kids though – how about a fun birthday card because I never have one in my stash when I need one!  The Be Hap-pea set is perfect for a quick and fun birthday card!

Let’s start with the background because that requires some drying time. On a watercolor panel, I used only water to draw a large area for a watercolor wash. I smooshed Cracked Pistachio, Lucky Clover, Peacock Feathers, and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Inks onto a glass mat and picked it up with my damp brush and allowed it to bloom and blend into each other. I kept applying more color until I was happy with the saturation. Then I set that aside to dry while I colored.

I stamped the images from the Be Hap-pea set and colored them with Copic markers.  So quick and easy when everything is green! I tried to sneak a bit of blue and pink onto the party hat too for some color.
Peas:  G02, G03, G05, G09
Peapod/Leaves:  YG13, YG06, YG09
Pinks:  RV21, RV25
Blues:  B02, B05

When the watercolor wash panel was dry, I used the largest die from the Outside In Stitched Rectangles to cut a stitching border around the panel before adhering my images to it with thin slivers of foam adhesive to give it lots of dimension.  My sentiment is embossed in white over black cardstock and I finished by adhering that to the top of my card.
I hope you like this sweet card!  Thanks so much for visiting today! ~Caly
