For each challenge, we will randomly select a winner to receive a $25.00 gift certificate to the Lawn Fawn shop! We will also be highlighting a few of your fabulous projects at the close of each challenge! By linking your projects to our challenges you will give permission for us to post your work to this blog and our social media sites. Check out the How to Play page for a few guidelines to play along. We want this to be FUN so we will keep the rules few!

Now let’s see how our fabulous Design Team was inspired by the Inspiration Board!

Franci combined Ahoy Matey with Fairy Friends to make an adorable treasure island themed card! I love how she added the watercolor stripes!

Joyce‘s whimsical scene makes me think of carefree summer days! She used images from Mermaid for You and Bicycle Built for You along with Simple Puffy Clouds and Palm Trees Lawn Cuts dies! She used the pond coordinating die from Dad+Me to make the island, so clever!

Jessica was inspired by the colors to make a fun Coaster Critters interactive slider card!

Samantha C made a card with a sunny beach vibe! I love how she made swim suits for her cute sandcastle-building Rub-A-Dub-Dub ducks!

Kate created a Magic Color Slider card that reveals a cute little Ahoy Matey beach scene!

Christy‘s gorgeous Life is Good scene is perfect with the dad’s day greeting! She used Stitched Oval Stackables and Really Rainbow paper to create a unique background!

Samantha M used the inspiration to craft an amazing scrapbook layout! She used Ocean Wave Borders as a stencil to create the beautiful waves! The cute merman from Mermaid for You is a whimsical embellishment!

Karin‘s watercolor panel is the perfect backdrop for her adorable mermaids! Her coloring adds so much interest to these Mermaid for You images!

We will have Design Team inspiration for you over the next two weeks and of course our Featured Fawnatics and Random Winner for Challenge 28 tomorrow!

An Adorable You Are Sublime Card with Jessica!

Good morning! Jess here with a card for our current Sketch Challenge!

I am head over heels for the new You Are Sublime set from the 2018 Lawn Fawn Summer release and wanted to use it for my card. I started by stamping the eel, rock, and seaweed onto white cardstock with Copic-friendly black ink. I colored them with Copic markers and then die-cut them with the coordinating dies. I added a few accents with a white gel pen and then added crystal glaze to the fins of the eel.

To create my background I smooshed peacock feathers, salty ocean, and blueprint sketch distress ink onto a piece of acetate. I spritzed it with water and then used my finger to blend the ink together into a loose circle. I spritzed it once more with water and then turned the acetate over and pressed it to a piece of watercolor paper. I held it in place for about 30 seconds to give the ink time to soak into the paper so it wouldn’t smear too much. Then I lifted the acetate and quickly blotted up any excess ink. I spritzed the panel with water to create a little dimension and blotted off the excess water. The areas that had been spritzed with water were lighter creating the impression of bubbles! I heat-set the watercolor paper, trimmed it down to 4” by 5.25” and adhered it to a black card base.

Next I stamped the sentiment and bubbles with Versafine ink and heat-embossed them with clear embossing powder. Finally I adhered the eel, rock, and plants with a mix of regular adhesive and foam mounting tape. I also applied a little crystal glaze to the bubbles to make them shiny! And that’s it!

You have one more weekend (until Sunday May 20th at 11:59PM ET) to be inspired by our sketch and I can’t wait to see what you create! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a phenomenal day! -Jess
