Since we have an extra week in our current challenge, Summer Splash, we wanted to take the time to spotlight an amazing online class: Adventures in Cardmaking! On the most recent episode of Adventures in Cardmaking with the East Coast Fawnies, Jenn and Chari were challenged through a series of Instagram polls to use the How You Bean? Seashell Add-on, color with inks, and create cards with a birthday theme. Let’s see how they turned out!
Jenn brought in Mermaid for You, of course! She lives on Cape Cod, loves the beach, and claims to be a part-time mermaid! All the Party Hats is the perfect set to reach for when you need to add some birthday fun. And it reinforces the greeting on her Stitched Sentiment Banner so well!
She watercolored the shells with Distress Watercolor Pencils. For her background, she started by blending Distress Oxide Inks onto Distress Watercolor Cardstock. Then she added regular Distress Inks over top using the flip and drip technique. She also included a handy chart showing which Copics she used for her mermaid, party hat, and school of fish!
Chari watercolored her shells using regular Distress Inks on Distress Watercolor Cardstock. She also hand-painted the background and trimmed it down with the Postage Rectangle Stackables. After arranging her seashells in a grid, she embellished with the new Tiny Treasures Iridescent Sequins.
