Christy’s Pretty Pink Flamingo Inspiration!

Hey friends, it’s Christy here with another card for our For the Birds Challenge! This time I was totally feeling these sweet feathered friends from Flamingo Together. I combined them with some flora and fauna from Critters in the Jungle and Manatee-rific. All of the images were colored with Copic markers and trimmed out with the matching dies.

For my focal panel, I die cut some Ballet Slippers cardstock with the Stitched Journaling Card die. I stamped my sentiment in a combo of Wild Rose and Black Licorice ink and then embossed two of the Just Stitching Hearts. Then I adhered my images.

For the card base, I used more Ballet Slippers cardstock to make a standard A2 sized card, then I trimmed out some Spring Fling pattered papers with the Outside In Stitched Rectangle Stackables so you get that detail on the edge, and also get a little peek of that cardstock showing through. I popped up my focal panel with foam tape and added a little Star Dust Stickles to the flower centers to finish off the card.

I also did some stamping on the inside, which you can check out in the video tutorial on my YouTube channel, Christy Gets Crafty. For now, why not grab those bird stamps and get crafty yourself! There’s still plenty of time to enter our challenge!

The For the Birds challenge will be open until Sunday February 2 at 11:59PM ET. We can’t wait to see what you create!

Caly’s Charming You’re Just My Type Card

It’s Caly with you today and I’m so excited to share my project with you. I adore the latest release by Lawn Fawn and got to use it today for the current Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #68 – Something Old & Something New! I’m using quite a few older sets so keep reading to find out!

The new You’re Just My Type and Love Poems sets are so much fun so I couldn’t help but combine them to create my pull-tab card today. I love the little mice on these sets so I combed through my Lawn Fawn bins and pulled out two more sets that have mice to add some friends to my card. The two mice at the bottom of my card are from the Elphie Selfie and Wild For You sets.

My images are stamped and colored with Copic markers. After die-cutting, I added white gel highlights. I do this after die-cutting because I’ve found that they can rub off on your die-cutting plates so I thought I would share that with you. Nothing like spending some time coloring for things to get messed up during the die-cutting process! Ask me, I totally had to color the desk twice because the die shifted during die-cutting. BOO!

My background is ink-blended with Worn Lipstick and Tattered Rose Distress Oxide inks on top and Peacock Feathers on the bottom. I love pinks and teals and always have to incorporate those colors! After ink-blending, I die-cut the Outside In Stitched Rectangles to create my border, then I used the new Just Stitching Hearts to add texture to my background, overlapping them for interest.

I then used the Let’s Toast Pull Tab Add-On to create my mechanism for my typed love note. I love all the mice on this card and the revealed note! To finish my card, I stamped the light rays for my lamp and added the typewriter sounds and stamped my sentiment on a Simple Wavy Banner.

I hope you enjoyed this project as much as I had making it! The current Something Old, Something New challenge ends on Sunday, January 19th at 11:59pm ET! I can’t wait to see all the entries! Thanks so much for stopping by today! ~Caly

Joyce’s Fantastic Stud Puffin Card!

Joyce joins us today to share a brilliant Stud Puffin card design using our Inspiration Board color palette! This challenge will be open until Sunday, January 5th at 11:59PM ET.

Joyce used the Just Stitching Hearts die set to create a lovely backdrop for the cute puffins! I love how she water-colored them in pretty shades inspired by the challenge color palette.

Joyce added her sentiment to the Fancy Folded Banner then used the banner to ground her puffins! The little grass images from Butterfly Kisses fill in the cute scene!

Thank you for sharing with us today, Joyce! Your card is amazing!
