Samantha’s Christmas Fishes Inspiration

It’s time to use all those Lawn Fawn critters in festive holiday designs! Link up your entry photos HERE! Your project should feature Lawn Fawn stamps, dies, stencils and papers and follow the challenge theme. This challenge will be open until Sunday, December 4 at 11:59PM ET.

Samantha has some adorable ocean critter inspiration for us today!

I love making Holiday cards, especially cards with holiday critters! For this card, I used the Christmas Fishes, Furry and Bright and Ho-Ho-Holidays images to create this fun under water Christmas Eve scene!

I colored all of the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brushes and then used the coordinating
dies to die cut them out! I added some details with a white gel pen, and also some chunky glitter
to add to the festiveness!

For the background, I started by ink blending with Blueprint Sketch, Mermaid Lagoon, Peacock
Feathers and Salvaged Patina. Then I used the same colors but added it to the same areas with
a paintbrush and some water. Once that was dry, I did more ink blending with the same colors. That process adds to the extra saturation and boldness of the colors! Love it!

The sentiment was heat embossed in white onto Black Licorice Cardstock and then die cut out
with the Fancy Wavy Banners.

Thank you for inspiring us today, Samantha!

Samantha’s Gorgeous Inspiration

Our Happy New Year Inspiration Board Challenge 115 will be open until Sunday, January 2nd at 11:59PM ET. We hope the beautiful photos and theme will inspire you and you will join us! Click HERE to go to the challenge post to enter your project!

Samantha is here today to share her gorgeous card inspired by our new challenge!

Samantha took her inspiration from the bottom left photo. She created a beautiful card with a woodgrain pattern. She stared by ink-blending a panel of white cardstock with Distress Oxide inks in Fossilized Amber and Vintage Photo. Then she added gold watercolor splatters. Then once the background was dry, Samantha stamped Woodgrain Backdrops with Walnut Stain Distress ink.

Then she used White Stencil Paste to add the Snowflake Trio Stencils over the woodgrain. While that was drying, she heat-embossed the sentiment from Snowy Backdrops in white on a vellum Fancy Wavy Banner. After attaching the sentiment banner, the final touch was a few clear sequins!

Thank you so much, Samantha! Your take on the Inspiration Board is so beautiful!

Samantha’s Avocado Pun Inspired Card

We are loving the yummy projects filling the Fun with Food gallery! This challenge will be open until Sunday August 1 at 11:59PM ET. We can’t wait to see how you are inspired by this theme!

Hi friends, it’s Samantha! I had so many avocado puns floating around in my head, so I knew I had to make an avocado themed card!

I used the cute avocado and toaster images from Let’s Toast to feature on my card! They were colored in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then fussy cut out. I heat embossed the custom, punny phrase with my all time, long time, favorite stamp set Harold’s ABCs! To add the sentiment I used a banner die cut from Black Licorice Cardstock with the Fancy Wavy Banners! I just LOVE the dimension that banner brings to the card!

For the background, I used the Simple Stripes: Diagonal to die cut out from white cardstock. Then I used Distress Oxide Inks in Blueprint Sketch and Cracked Pistachio on every other stripe! For the other stripes, I used Narwhal ink to add some soft, light gray to the edges! Then I splattered water on top of it all. Those bold stripes are my FAVORITE! I love the different techniques you can do with them, and how they make your images pop!

Thanks so much for sharing your punny card with us today, Samantha! I love it!
