We invite you to share your creativity by linking up your own creations at the end of the challenge post! Your project should feature Lawn Fawn stamps, dies, stencils, and papers. This challenge will run for 2 weeks and be open until Sunday, May 3rd, at 11:59 pm ET.
For each challenge, we will randomly select an entry to receive a $50.00 gift certificate to the Lawn Fawn shop! Everyone who enters has a chance to be the random winner! Yay!
We will also be highlighting a few of your fabulous projects at the close of each challenge! By linking your projects below, you give us permission to post your work to this blog and our social media sites. Check out the How to Play page for a few guidelines. We want this to be FUN, so we’ll keep the rules to just a few!
Christy here, with a Dad’s Day card using a fun, but forgotten technique!

I absolutely adore the new Mice Tools stamp set and knew I had to use it on a Father’s Day card for my dad. I colored the images with Copics, but when it came to the background, I was stumped. Should I ink blend? Color? Stencil? I wanted it to look a little grungy, and none of those felt quite right. Then I remembered a technique that I haven’t done in YEARS.

Ink Smooshing has been around for as long as I’ve been in this industry (a long time!) But since switching to using the MISTI years ago, I sometimes forget how useful an acrylic block can be. I pressed Distress Oxide Inks onto the block, spritzed with water, and then set it down on a pane of Bristol. I left a little white gap for the baseboard. The results were imperfectly perfect — just what I was going for!

Nothing says Dad’s Day like flannel, so I added patterned paper. I did an ombre effect on my sentiment, and placed it on a Simple Stitched Hillside Border to mimic the shape of their overalls pocket.
I think my dad will love it, and I hope that you do too! You can see the technique in action in my video tutorial on my YouTube channel, Christy Gets Crafty.
