We can’t wait to see your creative Create a Scene projects! This challenge will be open until Sunday, May 2 at 11:59PM ET. Have fun!

Our wonderful Guest Designer, Ashley joins us today to share some amazing Create a Scene inspiration!

Ashley’s festive underwater birthday party scene features Ocean Shell-fie and Birthday Before ‘n Afters! She built her fantastic scene on a Large Slimline with Sliders panel that she stenciled with the Bubbles Stencil!

How cute are those critters blowing bubbles from Bubbles of Joy! The little octopus also has a noisemaker from Party Animal! It’s all in the details!

Ashley stamped the “happy” from Yeti or Not on a Pearlescent Vellum Simple Wavy Banner for an extra touch of shimmer and shine!

Thank you so much, Ashley for being an awesome Guest Designer! Your fantastic scene cards are so inspiring!

Inspired by Grease with Guest Designer Su-Queen

We are starting week 3 of the Inspired by a Book, Movie or Song challenge and we are so wowed by all the amazing entries in the gallery! This challenge is clearly everyone’s favorite! You have one more week to challenge yourself to recreate your favorite book, movie, song or show. This challenge closes on Sunday, April 4th at 11:59PM ET.

Now we have more awesome inspiration by our Guest Designer Su-Queen Teo! I hope you have been checking out all the inspired by projects she has been adding to the gallery. Be sure to check them out at thepapercrownnyc on Instagram! For this Grease-inspired card she used Car Critters and Tiny Friends!

Let’s let Su-Queen tell us about her Grease-inspired design:
I was inspired by the Thunder Road Race scene from the movie Grease. The background panel is inked using Broken China and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink. The road is cut out from the Palm Tree Border die and inked with Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide ink. I cut out two pieces from the Tropical Backdrop die and cut off all the palm trees. Both were inked with Black Soot and Weathered Wood, one panel lighter than the other. The lighter gray panel is offset from the top. The darker gray panel has foam dots for dimension.

One car has flames from Little Dragon, for the other car I hand drew lightning with a silver pen. I added acetate for the window, added two people from Tiny Friends and used foam squares to pop them up. Cha-Cha also is popped up with foam squares and is holding a scarf (used the smaller seaweed from Fintastic Friends). The sentiment is stamped with Jet Black ink on Sunflower cardstock from the Simple Wavy Banner die.

Thank you so much for sharing all of your incredibly creative projects for this challenge, Su-Queen! We are so happy you joined us for this challenge!

We are so happy to welcome Su-Queen as our Guest Designer! She has been impressing us with her amazing designs; check out her Instagram feed to see why! We are so excited to share her Inspired by cards with you!

Su-Queen recreated a favorite scene from the movie The Notebook! I love how she used the Hammock and Trees hammock to stand in as the canoe! For the couple, she used Bicycle Built for You, reverse or mirror stamping the boy so the characters face each other. Her gorgeous coloring and fun details make this design so special!

Her amazing scene features Birch Trees, Cattails Border and swans from Swan Soirée! For the water, she cut a panel with a Stitched Hillside Border. Then to show movement in the water, she used Sandy Beach Accents, tucking the “canoe” into one of the slots.

And now let’s see what books, movies, songs or shows inspired our amazing Design Team!

Christy got her inspiration from Goldilocks and the Three Bears! Den Sweet Den and Snow Much Fun bears and the girl from Bicycle Built for You portray the characters! Christy filled in the scene with Puffy Cloud Borders as shrubs, the Forest Feast tree stump table and a Spring Showers cloud!

Samantha was inspired by Clifford the Big Red Dog! Clifford is one of the dogs from Critters at the Dog Park! The bowl, bone, ball and paw print are also from this set. Samantha used Build-A-House to make the dog house and she used one of our Tiny Friends as Emily Elizabeth!

Samantha tied in the red color using red Shimmer cardstock from the Gemstone pack to cut out the Stitched Scalloped Square Frames and the greeting from Finley’s ABCs and hugs from Stitched Gift Card Pocket!

Joyce created a scene on a Large Slimline with Sliders panel based on the movie Jurassic Park! The dinosaurs are from RAWRSOME and the trees are found in Critters Down Under. She used a couple of Tiny Friends in a Car Critters vehicle to finish the scene!

Jessica created a beautiful tall slimline card with a sentiment and scene inspired by Anne of Green Gables. She used hillside stencils to create the beautiful background and added some pretty Spring trees from Tree Before ‘n Afters. Happy Village images look so adorable with a Tiny Friend in the foreground and Sunburst Backdrop inked up in bright yellow provides a sunny sky! The sentiment is spelled out using Milo’s ABCs.

Franci did some masked stamping using Happy Howloween to portray 101 Dalmatians. Her sweet design is so clever! I love her simple color scheme!

Karin created an adorable Cookie Monster inspired by the furry muppet from Sesame Street! She did selective stamping with Yeti or Not, adding fun googly eyes to look like Cookie Monster. All she needed to fill out her design is Milk and Cookies and a speech bubble with a hand written quote!

Samantha M was inspired by a song from Mary Poppins for her sweet greeting! She used a Fairy Friend as a stand in for everyone’s favorite nanny with a smiling umbrella from Plus One! I love how she used the spoon from Stitched Mug Frame to make a Chunky Glitter filled Spoonful of Sugar!

Caly‘s inspiration is clearly a memorable moment from the movie Up! She combined balloons from Bicycle Built for You with a little house from Happy Village! She added white and vellum Puffy Clouds to the ink blended sky. Her greeting pairs Oliver’s Stitched ABCs with a sentiment from Really High Five.

Jenn recreated the iconic intro to The Brady Bunch for her inspired by card! I love how she used a variety of critters as the characters filling the windows including Meow You Doin’, Hay There, Fox Costumes Before ‘n Afters, Lovable Legends and Stinkin’ Cute!

We will share Design Team inspiration for you over the next 3 weeks and we’ll announce our Featured Fawnatics and random winner for Challenge 96 – Birthday tomorrow!
