Jessica’s Dreamy Unicorn Card!

Good morning! Jess here with a card for our current Pet Love challenge! I decided to think back to my childhood and my dream pet…so here’s what I created! 😉

To start I did a little ink smooshing to create my pastel sky. I smooshed tumbled glass, shaded lilac, and salty ocean Distress Oxide inks onto a piece of acetate, spritzed them with water and then pressed the acetate to a piece of watercolor paper. I held the acetate in place for a few seconds and then lifted it off carefully. I let the ink dry and then spritzed it with iridescent spray for a little extra sparkle. Then I die-cut the Puffy Cloud Border from white cardstock and vellum. I adhered them to the watercolor panel with ATG and vellum adhesive.

Next I stamped the adorable unicorn from Critters Ever After onto white cardstock and colored her with Copic markers before die-cutting her with the coordinating die. I also stamped the sentiment onto black cardstock and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder before trimming it down to a thin label. I tucked my unicorn into between the clouds and adhered the sentiment with foam mounting tape. Then I took a cheap paintbrush and brushed a little liquid glue over some of the cloud tops and sprinkled them with Chunky and Prisma Glitter. I tapped off the excess and let it dry. Finally I added a trio of iridescent sequins to finish the card!

And that’s it! You have one more weekend to get crafty and I can’t wait to see how pets inspire you! Thanks so much for stopping by and have an amazing day!

Grace’s Adorable Fish Tanks!

Grace joins us today to share some fabulous inspiration for our Pet Love challenge! She remembers seeing colorful fish in tanks at the pet store as a kid and created a whimsical version of those fish for her card today!

For this incredibly cute card Grace started with How You Bean? mason jars as the fish tanks. She used the Shaker Add-On to give them dimension for layering the fish and also to allow the fish to move!

Grace mounted some of the fish on clear thread so they look like they are swimming. The goldfish in the center jar is on the Let’s Toast Pull Tab Add-On so he can jump above the rim!

Grace used a mix of images from Fintastic Friends and Life is Good to fill the “tanks” with color!

Please visit Grace’s instagram allbygracec for more on how she created this fabulous interactive card! Thanks so much for this fabulous inspiration, Grace!

The Pet Love challenge continues through May 19th! We hope you will join us, we can’t wait to see what you create!

Samantha’s Cute Hedgehog Card!

Hey everyone, Samantha here with a card that is inspired by the current Pet Love Challenge! I love this challenge so much because I just adore animals. I have had pets my entire life and it would be hard to imagine my life without them. Pets really do become a part of your family, because they bring so much joy with their unique personalities. I always thought it would be fun to own a pet hedgehog, because they are such gentle and sweet animals.

I created a whimsical scene using hedgehogs from Jump for Joy and Hedgehugs. They are enjoying the springtime weather while trying to catch some butterflies from Butterfly Kisses!

You still have time to enter the Pet Love Challenge! Please check out the challenge page for tons of inspiration from both the design team and the current entries. I hope you have a wonderful day!
