Let’s check out what our amazing Design Team has to inspire us!

Christy created a super sweet treat of a card using the summery watermelon from Happy Summer! She crafty a cute scene on a Cross-Stitched Square and added the fun black birds from Happy Harvest! The red gingham background is perfect for this summer picnic card!

How cute is that squirrel adding Pumpkin Spice to the latte! Jessica‘s clever design is what Autumn dreams are made of with a gorgeous ink blended sky! You’ll find that cute squirrel in our Cheery Christmas set!

Cute critters are treating themselves to their favorite hot beverage on Samantha‘s charming card! She’s added her signature inky background and a black and white stripe accent! She used stamps from Critter Concert, Love You S’more and Love You a Latte!

Our Toboggan Together penguins are sharing a little birthday cake on Karin‘s clean and simple card design! The party hats, cake and balloon are from Party Animal and she added the birthday greeting with Tiny Tags and Tiny Tag Sayings: Birthday!

Samantha combined lots of Lawn Fawn sets to create this whimsical card! The cat is from Meow You Doin’? as are the mouse and the cute fish bones decorating the ice cream scoops! The ice cream images are found in Here’s the Scoop! She finished this clever design with Bunting Borders, Celebrate Border and Scalloped Rectangle Stackables layers!

Franci’s beautiful card design features Pumpkin Spice with the cute Cheery Christmas squirrels! She created a fun Fall scene with the pumpkins from Happy Harvest and added a special touch to the sentiment with gold embossing!

Our I Scream, You Scream die set is perfect for this new challenge theme and Joyce‘s card is just so perfectly charming! The sweet pastel colors and the Itsy Bitsy Polka Dot Backdrop add cute detail!

We will have Design Team inspiration for you over the next two weeks and of course our Featured Fawnatics and Random Winner for Challenge 34 tomorrow!

Jessica’s Let it Snow Card

Good morning! Jess here with a card for our current Favorite Places challenge! Earlier I shared an underwater card because there’s nothing I like better than being in the water (preferably a turquoise blue ocean) but a very close second for me is walking outside at night during a winter snowfall. I love the crisp feel to the air, the crunch of the snow under your feet, and the absolute feeling of peace and tranquility…especially late at night (like 1 or 2 am) when no one is on the roads yet, the snow is perfectly pristine, and the sky is brightly lit in jewel tones! So that’s the feeling I decided to recreate today!

To start I water-colored a long panel with Mijello Mission Gold watercolors focusing on jewel tones of blue, purple, and pink fading out to pale pink at the bottom. I let it dry and then went back in and added more paint for a really saturated look! Then I let the panel dry completely while I stamped and colored my alpaca from Winter Alpaca with Copic markers before die-cutting him with the coordinating die. I also die-cut the snowflakes from Mini Snowflakes with white cardstock.

Once the panel was totally dry I pressed an embossing ink pad all over it. Then I sprinkled the panel with hologram clear sparkle embossing powder and heat-embossed it. The powder really picks up the colors of the background resulting in a fabulously sparkly look! I tore a strip of white cardstock to create a snowy bank for my alpaca, adhered the water-colored panel to a side-folding white card base, and then adhered the snow and alpaca over it. Then I stamped the sentiment from Winter Big Scripty Words with embossing ink, heat-embossed it with silver glitter embossing powder, and die-cut it with the coordinating die! I adhered that to the water-colored background and then added the snowflakes to finish the card!

And that’s my other Favorite Place! You have one more weekend to get crafty with your Favorite Place creations (challenge closes at 11:59PM ET on Sunday August 19th) and I can’t wait to see what you create! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a fantastic day!
