Lawn Fawnatics Challenge 74 – Card Sketch

Hello Fawnatics Friends! We have a new challenge for you to keep you inspired as we all “stay home and craft”! Jenn designed a fun sketch for you to use as inspiration for your project! Follow it exactly or use your creative license to interpret it in a clever way!

We would love for you to share your creativity by linking up your crafty projects at the end of this post! Your project should feature Lawn Fawn stamps, dies and papers. This challenge will run for 2 weeks and be open until Sunday, April 19th at 11:59PM ET.

For each challenge, we will randomly select an entry to receive a $25.00 gift certificate to the Lawn Fawn shop! We will also be highlighting a few of your fabulous projects at the close of each challenge! By linking your projects to our challenges you will give permission for us to post your work to this blog and our social media sites. Check out the How to Play page for a few guidelines to play along. We want this to be FUN so we’ll keep the rules to just a few!

Now let’s see how our amazing Design Team was inspired by the card sketch!

Caly featured Say What? Spring Critters in her pretty close version of the Sketch! She used Outside In Stitched Circles and a sentiment from Simply Sentiments! How cute is the Hello Sunshine Remix paper peeking through the circle windows!

Franci chose to follow the sketch more loosely! She used the placement of the images from Butterfly Kisses as her interpretation of the sketch! For the sentiment she used a fun one from Ready Set Shake!

For her Sketch design, Joyce created cute little Oh Gnome! scenes in the windows of the Foursquare Backdrop: Portrait!

Karin switched up the the sketch a bit by using Heart Shaker Gift Tag to create the grid design! The cute Chirpy Chirp Chirp chicks are perfect on this Easter design!

For her adorable Easter card, Samantha used Scalloped Circle Stackables to follow the sketch! The cute bunnies and baskets are from Easter Before ‘n Afters!

Jessica‘s beautiful sketch design combines dies from Shadow Box Card Rainbow Add-On and Spring Showers to remind us to look for rainbows! The sentiment is from Rain or Shine Before ‘n Afters. She used the stitched circle from the Magic Iris to assemble the little weather vignettes but you could use any stitched circle die set!

Christy‘s card is so bright and happy! She used A Bug Deal to fill the windows of the Foursquare Backdrop: Portrait! For the sentiment she combined a phrase from A Bug Deal with Finley’s ABCs!

Samantha went for a more abstract look for the sketch design! She used the Outside In Stitched Cloud Stackables and the little speech bubble in place of the circles! Her adorable card also features Super Star as well as mice from You’re Just My Type and Love Poems!

Jenn‘s card is a festive design in honor of Mister Harley’s birthday! Her card features all three of her cats with images from Meow You Doin’! She also used images from some of our birthday mini sets: confetti from Year Nine, balloon from Year Four and the sentiment from Year Two!

We will share Design Team inspiration for you over the next 2 weeks and we’ll announce our Featured Fawnatics and random winner for Challenge 73 tomorrow!

The Cat in the Hat with Samantha!

Be sure to join us the Lawn Fawn blog for Inspiration Week, March 11 – 19!

Hey everyone, Samantha here with a card that is inspired by the current Inspired By a Book, Movie or Song challenge! Growing up I loved all Dr. Seuss books, the bright colors and illustrations were always fun to look at. The stories and how they were written always brightened my day. They always had a positive message, so I wanted to make an encouragement card with characters from the Cat in the Hat

In order to create my Dr. Seuss inspired characters, I needed to pair a whole bunch of stamp sets together. The proportion of the cat head, from the Meow You Doin’ stamp set, fit perfectly on the bunny body from the Eggstra Amazing Easter stamp set. I used the top hat from the Bicycle Built for You stamp set, and extended it to be taller and more whimsical.  The cookie jar, from the Milk and Cookies stamp, set was the perfect shape for the fish bowl. I used a pen to draw lines to replicate the illustration style in the Dr. Seuss books. By adding the linework, it really helped bring the characters to life.

I just love this challenge so much. The design team and current entries are so much fun and so inspiring. You still have time to enter the Inspired By a Book, Movie or Song challenge! The challenge will be open until Sunday March 15th at 11:59PM ET. Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful day!
