A Hoppy Birthday Card by Christy!

Hey friends, it’s Christy with a fun Fall-ish birthday card for you today. Our current Something Old, Something New challenge is to combine some older Lawn Fawn products with newer ones, which is one of my favorite things to do! Lawn Fawn makes it so easy, because their images are designed to work so well together!

I’ve had today’s card concept in mind for quite some time now. When my boys were in preschool, they used to sing this counting song about little speckled frogs sitting on a log, until one by one they jump into the “pool where it was nice and cool.” It always made me smile so big to hear them sing it, and now I’ve finally translated it into card form. 😉

I started with Toadally Awesome and threw in a few leaves from Jump for Joy, stamping out my images and coloring them with Copic markers before trimming them out with the matching dies.

One of my favorite craft supplies is patterned paper, and I wanted to highlight that in my scenery today, so I used an older Watercolor Wishes pattern for my sky, and then added grass and the pond with the brand-new Knit-Picky Fall. I used the Outside In Stitched Rectangle Stackables to trim off an 1/8” border and add that great stitching detail. For the grass I used Grassy Borders and Meadow Borders, and a Simple Stitched Hillside Border for the pond.

I added my images to the focal panel, stamped the sentiment in Walnut ink, and popped it up with foam tape over another Knit Picky Fall print that kind of brings all the colors together. I also finished off the inside with an additional sentiment and a few more images stamped in Noble Fir.

If you want to see how this card came together, you can check out the video on my YouTube channel, Christy Gets Crafty. And don’t forget you still have time to enter our Something Old, Something New Challenge! It will be open until Sunday, September 30th at 11:59PM ET. I can’t wait to see what products you combine!

Happy Crafting! Have an awesome weekend, Fawnatics Friends!

Adorable Tag Card by Karin

Karin joins us today to share a fun idea for an interactive card! Her adorable tag could be removed, tied with Lawn Trimmings cord and used as a bookmark! Now that’s clever.

Instructions:
Die cut Stitched Rectangle from watercolor or textured paper and dry emboss it for extra texture. Then make a card base, slightly larger than the rectangle from the same kind of paper you used for the rectangle .
Stamp the tag from Winter Gifts and die cut with Tag You’re It. Stamp sentiment from Critters in the ‘Burbs to upper center.
Die cut Grassy Border and use tape runner to attach to bottom of the tag
Stamp critters and flowers from Critters in the ‘Burbs then color, die cut or fussy cut them. Use Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink if you want to color with Copic markers.
Adhere tag to Stitched Rectangle with foam adhesive (or repositionable tape to use as bookmark) and then adhere rectangle to card base with foam adhesive.

We hope Karin‘s adorable Critters in the ‘Burbs tag card has inspired you to come and play along with us. Click HERE to see what’s happening with our current Interactive Challenge!
